Fox News would be proud with the spin of this thread title.

There is nothing in the article that supports this title.

You know, except for the fact that the thread title is almost 1:1 part of the article.

"implying that manufacturing of Xbox consoles will slow or stop, to allow retailers time to work through existing inventory."

Title Says: Xbox One production may slow down or stop to give retailers a chance to shift inventory

Article says: We do expect to work through some inventory in Q4," said Hood, referring in this case to the period between April 1 - June 30, 2014. She also referred to "channel inventory drawdown for Xbox consoles," implying that manufacturing of Xbox consoles will slow or stop, to allow retailers time to work through existing inventory.

Maybe you were reading the wrong article?

OT: The system is still doing well for MS, and their stock will eventually get sold, so they most likely just over-estimated demand. Or maybe they expected the demand to increase due to Titanfall and wanted to have enough on hand.

The last line in the Update... sorry, I didn´t read it.

"She also referred to "channel inventory drawdown for Xbox consoles,""

Well, if that was the only thing she said and was enougth to imply the title... too bad. This could be refering to anything between: price cut, bundles and aggressive marketing.

Because in fact, reducing the manufecture this time of the year is more than expected, it´s a obvious decision.

PS: What will be done with the 3mi 360 clogging the retail channel then?

PS2: Never mind, this is a Copy-Paste Neogaf thread http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=807787

Why exactly does it being on NeoGaf change anything?  Almost every gaming story written ends up on there, the site is massive

You can't get more confirmation than that, that a lot of console are on shelves. As suspected, this place is suspiciously quite.

Re: why is the Xbone not released in the other 50 regions? One word. Kinect. The voice recognition is the main reason for the delays. The irony is that no one cares about the Kinect. Pretty sad really. I know not it is only 5% but that is still 100,000s of consoles that they are not aelling

I wonder if this means they are closer to the higher end of the supply scale (1.5M) than the lower end of it (800k-1M). And I know some Xbox fans probably like to think that's too high, constantly repeating 'but it's only in 13 countries, ' but the fact remains that the One is already being sold unofficially in many of the other countries. An official launch isn't going to change much.

@ BeElite

I'm sure MS would love to drop the price by $100, while dropping the Kinect. Unfortunately, I don't think investors are going to be too happy if they do. Especially since all they did for didn't really change much, while eating into their profits. That and they probably have a huge supply of Kinects that wouldn't be sold, as their original plans had them selling it with the One for probably most, if not all, of its lifetime.

I think all investors are going to allow them to do, without making a huge stink, is dropping to $449 with Kinect.

Common practice when a company has a surplus of stock on shelfs. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I dont get it. If MS has so much X1 stock, why dont they launch in the 50 or whatever number of countries they have yet to officially launch in? Seems like a waste.

Red tape. Kinect translation perhaps.
