Forums - Gaming Discussion - Uncharted 4 Delayed/Rebooted to 2016??

So a couple days ago, on IGN's "Podcast Beyond" (IGN's Playstation podcast), they discussed the possability of Uncharted 4 possibly being delayed/Rebooted to 2016.  At first I was skeptical, but after hearing thier whole discussion out, I actually think it makes a lot of sense.

Ok, so thier argument is that Naughty Dog's Uncharted team (made Uncharted 1 &3) had a shake up because something went down in the studio, and so because of some creative conflicts, or mabye because the game just wasn't shaping up verry well, most of the big people working on the project just decided to leave.

Now whether or not U4 got rebooted or not is unsure, but what we do know for sure is that just about all of the big named people who were working on U4 have left Naughty dog within a span of a couple months.

Here is a list:

Head Art Director - Nate Wells

Head Game Director - Justin Richmond

Creative Director & Writer for Uncharted 1,2, & 3 - Amy Hennig

Voice Actor for Villan - Todd Stashwick

Now the fact that all of these key people left in such a short timespan can't be a coinsidence, so my gut feeling is that the project has likely been restarted to some extent.  I don't think they would throw away all of the hard work that I'm sure they have put into the game over the past couple of years, but I think they are probabally going to change up the story and possibly game mechanics some.

What do you guys think though?

Do you think we will still see Uncharted 4 at this year's E3 conference, or do you think that the project has been rebooted to 2016?

They might show it @ e3 but it might get delayed till sometime in 2015... 2016 on the other hand seems a long time lol... Too Long...

I don't think so. There are hundreds of people working on it and it's not like "key people" can't be replaced. The plans of the game have been laid out for a long time and the game is a good amount into development. I don't think it is impossible for the people that left to be replaced without sacrificing the quality of the product.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Ya I have a hard time believing it would be a 2014 game. Sony saves their gems for at least year 2 and b3yond.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I think those people left cause ND did some pay cuts and they weren't happy, I doubt its because of creative conflicts because all of those people were working on completely different parts of the game.

I guess it will be release in FY2014... March to be more specific.

Paycuts?

I Don't think you understand, most people in the gaming industy do what they do because they love to do it, not because it pays good, and if pay cuts was the case, don't you think they would at least finish the project before deciding to leave?

I expect it to be out next year.

3 of those jobs seems to be easily replaceable if not all...

But then why did they leave?

I mean there had to be a reason because they all left one after the other, and while yes they will be replaced, if there is a whole new team comming in, don't you think they will want to make it their game , and change it to thier liking?

Just looking at the art department, the head art director is responsable for the entire art direction of the game, so if thier is a new art director comming in, then it is verry possible that U4 will take a completely different art direction, and same think with the new Writer comming in, and the new game director.

Also, all the work they they had done voice acting for the villan (we know he was working on U4 with them for at least 6 months) will have to be redone, and the fact they they are recasting the villan is a sign to me that they DO want to take a completly new direction with U4 than the old team had in mind.
