Fun fact: Nintendo of Amercia is the one who makes 90 % of the publishing-politic of NoE. ;)

DerNebel said: Just so I understand this right, in the UK you can get a Wii U including 2 games for 240 pounds, in the US you get the same thing for $300 and now you release a MK8 bundle, throw in a Wii Remote Plus and a bunch of random stuff and sell it for 300 pounds or $350 depending on the region? Nintendo you never seize to amaze me these days. |
The standard MK bundle is also 240 pounds with the (physical) game and the 32GB console...in addition to that they are releasing a premium bundle for 300 pounds with the game, the console and a bunch of extras...
Also, where is everybody getting the 350$ figure from? The MK8 bundle hasn't even been announced for NA yet and you guys are already complaining about the price? Did I miss something? If so, I would appreciate a link.

Does it come with anything special, or is that just the console and MK8?
Because with sales the way they are, the last thing they need to do is raise prices, and this effectively negates the appeal of an MK8 bundle. You can get a Mario Luigi bundle for $250 if you look in the right place or get a gift card, and get MK8 separate for less than $350.

Really? I'm not. Nintendo do not seem to want to fight for WiiU anymore. XB1 has been out 1 year ess than WiiU, has far better sales, and MS are already fighting far far harder than Nintendo ever have for sales. |
Remember I come from retail. When I see choices that arent going to drive hardware or software they surprise the hell out of me because I look at it from a salesman point of view.
But yeah my first thought was that the console must still either sell at a loss or close to cost. Its clear at this point Nintendo have given up on marketshare and are instead totally focused on driving a profit

And what evidence do we have that that post is true? I've seached the internet and I can't find any official confimations...

No, it will be $299.
Its standard Wii Premum price $299/299€/250£, $349 will be maybe mega bundle, like in UK.

Did it ever get an official $50 cut in US?
