I'd like to know your thoughts on the phone. Have any of you tried it? Good? Bad? Cracked screens? Dat terrible Sony customer service? I'd like to hear from actual current users or past users and not admirers on the sidelines.

I have the Z1 and I love every bit of it. Never had any issues with it so far. I love the size and build of it, the screen, the camera and the long battery life (runs me about 2-3 days before I need to charge, but of course depends on what you run on it). I never had any problems with it so I never had the chance to call up their customer service.

I had an xperia z, at the time when I purchased the device it was up there as one of my favorite smart phone devices, BUT it was slower cearly than the iphone 5 was.. and my current device the nexus 5.. reason being the device was running on snap dragon 400.. (clocked a littler higher than the galaxy s III), water resistance was great.. camera was great..

BUT THE Z1 is a HUGE improvement.. super snappy, better camera, slightly better screen.. but overall when I had the xperia z I would say it was sony's best smartphone at the time.. clearly they have improved drasticly on the device.. with the z2 being one of the top 3 best smartphone devices money can buy today (according to critics and android stans)

currently using Z1 Compact, and happy with its the best small Android smartphone so far...

Unusual that you say it is clearly slower than a 5. I have found my xperia T to be faster than an iphone 5 in some aspects so I would expect the z to be better.

I'm not sure why anyone is comparing it with the Z1 compact or Z2 since both have an IPS screen so they can't be compared. Camerawise every Z after the original has a 20.7MP camera while the Z had a 13MP.

I had a Z1 but it stopped charging. It was something to do with the magnetic charger which the Z also has so be careful with that. Think it went in backwards or something. Sent it back and waited for the Z2 to release here.

My wife has the z1 and its gorgeous... you tube looks great on it, has a great camera, but the camera doesn't always work perfectly might be the settings...

I use an Xperia Z now

Love everything except the battery life, its really bad, imo
The camera isn't that great either

If you were looking for a recommendation I would say start with the Z2, fixes all the complaints from Z and Z1

Reviews from across the web seem fairly positive when it comes to the Sony Xperia Z. For some reasons, Sony managed to make a better name than Samsung and other mainstream brands. However, the major issue with this phone is obviously the screen! Mine simply broke in my pocket without any particular pressure being exerted on it. I never managed to get it repaired nor did I get an insurance refund! Really deceiving Sony experience need to say!
