I think Capcom or Sega. Even Sonic and Megaman are in Smash Bros.... yeah just saying!

But I think smaller studios like Level-5 or Platinum games would be better and fit a little bit more in Nintendos policy.

Capcom didn't forget about megaman....Megaman forgot about Capcom.

Well if they were going to buy actual publishers, Capcom and Sega are the ones to go to. That said, people have mentioned that publishers don't usually buy publishers. Instead, wait until Capcom is really struggling, then buy Capcom's IP and devs. And remember, buying the companies means you have to support them. It's not just a one time cost. Capcom has been struggling, so buying the company wouldn't get them much, they might even lose money. Sega would be more difficult to get a hold of since they're Sega Sammy, not just Sega. It might be doable though, and Sega has a wide library that would fit really well with Nintendo.

They would be better off buying developers rather than publishers. Platinum Games is a prime example.

Should've bought Atlus when they had the chance

M&As, in any business, are a tricky situation, fraught with peril and, in fact, the vast majority do *not* pay off in the end, when it comes to contributing to the company's bottom line.

(In which case, as others have noted, grabbing smaller studios to shore up weaknesses in Nintendo's catalog (primarily 'mature' titles) is really the only potentially smart option due to the costs involved with larger publishers (especially since those companies produce games for *many* other consoles, etc.), which is immediately lost value *for which you still have to pay*.)

They should buy the Playstation division and replace Iwata with Ken Kutaragi, who was recently invited to Hiroshi Yamauchi's funeral.

Why does everyone think Nintendo should buy SEGA? I completely and totally disagree.

Now the question is: Why do you disagree?

Capcom and Sega are the top two, huh? I can see why. I can also see why SE would be 3rd. Capcom and Sega have great IPs that if Nintendo got a hold of would give them enough output to be able to hold their own even without lots of 3rd-party games to buffer in between IMO

Ubisoft makes great games but they already give great support, sure they delayed stuff and are a bit mean but generally speaking they're putting out more games for the Wii U than other companies and are supporting them plenty, so... :

Definitely not EA, that company blows

SE is nice and they'd dominate if they somehow got series like KH and FF to be exclusives or something, but I just don't see it happening or working out. If I were Nintendo instead of buying them I would just make a deal where they get ports of said games released at the same time so they aren't left out (and therefore Wii U would still have plenty of games and wouldn't be missing out on big titles like those anymore).

Nintendo is handling Megaman better than Capcom has in Smash so far, and I'm digging the deal Sega and Nintendo had with the games, if they strengthened that where those companies are now part of Nintendo's network (1st-party or w/e) and they reaped the benefits of having those companies, it'd be nice

This is all just thoughts and such though, I don't expect anything to happen, especially since this is Nintendo we're talking about, that war chest is probably just going to sit there yet, if they do spend it it'll be in small amounts to get small support and such :

SEGA is more than console games (for example arcade games) and publish some series that I don't see Nintendo having enough interest in. (Total War series, Football manager, Phantasy Star for example) A company doesn't just buy another company if there is no real reason to.
