Also any company they would buy would see sales of their series drop off pretty badly imo.
Firstly this means no more mobile games for them, a big part of the likes of Capcom and SQEX.
Series like AssCreed would drop because very few people are going to go out and buy a WiiU for that game. A large part of its fan base is a very casual gamer crowd that plays CoD and Madden on their Xbox or PS.
Same goes for MGS, look at those recent PS vs XB sales.
If Nintendo want to become more relevant in the home console scene they would need to build up a strong library of devs in Japan and the west that can boost sales enough to see 3rd parties return because without them (or some crazy Wii like luck) they wont ever see the same sales the PS brand has managed.

According to this they have 4.9b in cash reserves. |
It says over that much but many websites say they have at least 8 billion dollars.
What they should do is be bought by a bigger company like google, samsung or Apple.
The big company would provide budget and strong hardware and Nintendo would continue making games, sounds good to me.

The company will see sales decrease but the profit can be bigger. The company will only be developing on one console thus saving resources for other games. Nintendo will also be funding projects too since they own the company.
Sales could also increase. Nintendo can buy an extremely popular IP and people will have to buy a Wii U to play that game. What if Fifa became exclusive to Wii U? Everyone will need to buy a Wii U as there is no major alternative. The company itself would not be concerned if it sells as much as it used to but it is Nintendo who must step it up a notch and sell.
Why do people buy a certain console? Games! If Nintendo buys a company like Ubisoft, it does not only limit PS and XB multiplats but it increases Nintendo exclusives. AAA games like AC and Watch Dogs will become exclusive to Wii U. This will influence someone to purchase a Wii U. The more Wii Us the more games can be sold.

Googlr so that Ads can fill up your whole TV screen while playing a game? Apple so microtransanctions rip your wallet apart? Samsung so you would have to integrate your Galaxy into every game? Nintendo being bought by a company would cause Nintendo to lose its touch. That is not what fans want.
I have to go with Capcom and Take Two interactive. Capcom provides IPs like MH RE Street Fighter and Mega Man. Take two provides IPs like GTA 2k Sports Red Dead Redemption. Capcom has Monster Hunter which is huge in Japan. Take two has NBA 2k and GTA which are huge in the west.
I know EA is also huge but EA follows the money and as soon as Nintendo starts selling Wii Us, EA will return. Sega and Nintendo can collaborate as much as they want since Sonic sells best on Nintendo. Ubisoft will also follow the money and return to the Wii U.
Don't think OP knows how business works, unless this is imagination, then they should buy Sega or EA obviously.
Sega for Japan, EA for everywhere else.
