Cause they are getting the option of buying the limited edition Mario Kart 8 bundle with the blueshell thing! Europe Deserves hate from us NoA fans >:(

Anyway, I think thats pretty cool! I just found XY more charming than the rest, probably cause they did the graphics so well! It deserves every bit of sales it gets!

From my perspective, not that impressive, given the time of year both released in.

Still, it is trending ahead in Europe, which is something.

Not impressive? Well yeah the release for one game is much earlier for year one, but people never have problems comparing those am i right :p

Also like you said its trending ahead in Europe. This is the first step which in why im comparing it. Since it surpassed BW Year 2 Sales (Europe) in less than 4 months, now it means it can try to overtake lifetime sales. BW was by far the most frontloaded main gen games. So Year 1 is monstrous and i believe best in the entire series (despite lowest of the main games excluding XY)

Lastly WW numbers are at 10.81mil as of Apr 12th.(12mil has been shipped+digital as of March) These numbers are undertracked by a huge margin. Japan sales are pretty accurate and digital sales are just 100k, US sales are definitely undertracked by at least 100k-200k (not including digital).

So that leaves Europe and the rest of the world unaccounted-for. My guess is Europe is the one missing 300k-500k Sales. It can possibly be already closing in on BW lifetime there!

Context is important. At the same point in its lifetime, Black/White still had yet to see a full holiday season.

Which is why I find the comparison you chose unimpressive, but I acknowledge it's trending ahead. All things being equal, of course sales from months 8-12 will be lower than sales from 3-7. That's not much of an accomplishment. That it's trending ahead, and will likely continued to do so, is worth noting.

So I agree with the general idea of this thread, but the statistics you chose to represent it are less impressive than the reality.

Wait hold on... BW still had yet to see a full holiday season? Im confused on this. BW has been out longer. Year 2 sales have nothing to do with that though?

Besides thread was just to show how much its improving from gen to gen (this case Europe). Less than 400k realistically!

"At the same point in its lifetime, Black/White still had yet to see a full holiday season."

The problem is that, for B/W, year 2 sales started 8 months after release. For X/Y, it was less than 3. It's not a very good comparison.

Well same for Year 1, Since it had less than 3 months vs 8 months, but i do get where your coming from.

Aside from BW year 2 disadvantage (due to more sales going in Year 1), those lifetime sales are very amazing. I still think the lifetime sales are alot lesser than 470k cuz we obviously have XY undertracked

Agreed, those are some solid sales. Will be interesting to see where they go from here.
