i tip my bomit to you sir.
i can already tel we are different people.

I disparage with everything you said in the video.
but i as a customer desrve to have my shoes kissed for giving them money to feed there family and mom.

Because the "average consumer" doesn't spend money on things that "we" like to spend money on. They make "casual games", something that we abhor, popular and that frightens us especially when companies notice how popular the casuals can make their games. That's when things start to change, and that gets me to the bottom of this...

Change. (By the by, I didn't watch the video.)

Dun worry. The video brought the  question to my attention, but the discussion is about the title.

I don't. Genre elitism is silly. CoD, Angry Birds, I don't care, they're all games. I don't play either one but I do find it childish when someone has to put one or the other down in order to feel good about their own gaming choices. The only time I get annoyed is when someone suggests that one type is going to replace another.

That being said, I didn't watch the video. Jim Sterling is pretentious windbag who would be better suited writing for tabloids than about gaming.

Because those people let themselves get tricked and buy Call of Duty, Madden, etc. yearly which causes the companies to keep releasing them yearly, which kills the company.

Whichever one you blame seems rational to me, but I'd say It's the companies fault for trying to do that in the first place.

Jim has a point but it's moot. He doesn't want the consumer to change their behavior but the industry to change theirs just like that. Sadly we're not living in a dream world so changing the habits of the average consumer is our only chance for change at all.

I don't hate the average consumer. I don't think they hate themselves. Everyone is talking about how the average consumer is "tricked" or "ripped off" but those are loaded words that only work when you feel like that. The average consumer doesn't feel tricked, that's why he continues to purchase and obviously enjoys "crap" games and "overpriced" DLC. So who are we to decide for them what's best? After all we're not even doing it for their benefit but solely for ours.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

They don't buy enough of my favorite games.

A better question would be, "Why do gamers hate everything".
