If the game weren't releasing at an already reduced price ($29.99), then I'd be a bit more annoyed about this. I'm really not a fan of day-one DLC though, so I can't say I'm really happy Nintendo is adapting this type of DLC strategy for their games.

Good heavens, day 1 DLC from Nintendo? Genuinely surprised by this.
Smart business move and I don't particularly have a problem with it, but goes against a lot of the values Nintendo fans are proud of.

As I said before: i fear the day that nintendo "get with the times". Microtransactions closer than ever.

Why not? Haven't the shareholders been asking them to do this kind of thing for years?
Either it works and the game sells lots of DLC; or it doesn't work and the board can say "hey look, we were right all along". Either way, it gets the problem sorted.
