I guess it boils down to how big the market is, despite the piracy. The phone market is huge. Even if you lose a couple of millions to piracy theres still many to be made.

That applies to anything with a large userbase.  Even if something crazy like 25% of X console were pirate machines that still leaves a 75%.

Yes... and how much money you can make from the precentage that will buy your game and wether its worth it or not. Its not a matter of percentages, but a matter of revenue numbers.

That will always vary heavily depending upon whom the software appeals to and the platform the software is released upon.  Monster hunter makes more money on Handhelds than mobile even though mobile should be able to provide more revenue due to it's billions of users. Probably because despite all those extra users it's not a game that fits most peoples use case for a phone or tablet.

So is this about piracy or not enough revenue? Those aren't the same thing especially considering that people whom pirate probably weren't going to purchase it in the first place and can't really be labeled missed income or revenue.  Not enough revenue makes sense as Mobile spending on game apps surpassed PSP pretty quickly.  But that isn't what you told me earlier.  You said it was piracy.

You sure like to drag this on. We are completely off-topic here for a while. We can debate the pros and cons of piracy and product positioning. But its not gonna lead us nowhere in the case at hand.

The point is: Publishers dont like losing money cause of piracy. The PSP is unviable. A Vita HD version requires a port, localisation and HD remake wich are more costly than just a localisation. Those costs have to be compared with the possible costs and sales predictions. If they find it worth it they will bring Type-0 (or any PSP game). If they dont, then they dont. Its not a simple task you made it sound like, though its also not rocket science. It requires the will to do so.

Shahid himself is the only one that can try to make that happen by giving them incentives on the behalf of SCE. So, it really isnt fair to take it out on him when he is the only one trying to make it happen.

Losses don't work that way. People, developers and publishers who believe that I don't take seriously.  If someone never intended to buy your game you are not losing money.  The only exception I can think of is if the game uses servers.

If people on the internet can simply insert files and build a new iso pardon me for thinking SE has the ability to do the same. They only made the game.  I suppose this task is just difficult for SE.  It's not hard too believe. They did lose the assets to one of their own games.  I KNOW how easy it is to play around with the textures and models of Type-0  because I am DOING so on my computer.

I can't argue about their will being needed when it's not there.

Multiple times I've said that Sahid does fine with what he has to work with.   Stop claiming I'm being unfair to him when I'm not.

If they can port FFX/X-2 and sell them one while also losing sales to the PS3 port, porting from PSP to Vita (with localisation already done) is surely cost worthy.  They likely not done it because SE have been dickheads for the last 7 or so years.

This! no matter how anyone tries to spin it, type 0 would never be anything less then a hit! Its a great looking final fantasy (It is going to sell!) game, probably amongst the easiest to sell in recent years. Even if it was released on the dead PSP in 2012 and pirated to death, it would probably would have done a few 100k in the west. If it was released on the Vita it would likely be one of the systems first million sellers.

OK Let's lock this thread now please, I'm sorry for all the hateful comments. If you read some of my later posts you can see I admit I got carried away and I acknowledge he is trying. Sorry again.

Yeah, I think that's probably for the best.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
