It's a natural human behavior in the modern time period. I think ita called the bystander effect. Of course, this doesn't justify people not helping. But it helps us understand that we shouldn't call people out when we are just as likely to be unhelpful as they are.

" This is what a rapist could look like"<-- This is what was wrong with the ending. " You just saved a life" would have been a much better message like 60% of the Youtube comments said. Oh well!
