64gb ram?

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

This is dumb, cloud computing as render any future hardware advancement irrelevant. There won't be any PS5 or Xbox 2 only Ps4 with the cloud and X1 with more clouds

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

 PS3 was ~300-400, PS4 is 1.95TFLOP so 5x increase

First off, the PS4 has 1.84 TFlops of GPU compute power, secondly, the PS3 only has a GPU with 228 Gflops (0.0228 Tflops), so the PS4's GPU is actually an x8 increase over the PS3.

Also, what is sort of funny is the fact that the PS4's CPU, while being much simpler to program for, is actually less powerfull than the PS3's Cell Processor.

Yeah I know, I'm using combined GPU+CPU flops.

64 GB is too high. Only very specific kinds of PCs with particular uses require such a high amount. I'd bet 32 GB as crazy maximum.

4K gaming will be possible, but QHD (2560x1440)/WQXGA+ (3200x1800) 16:9 resolutions will also be common in individual cases depending on the Virtual Reality support and if 4K proves too taxing. VR games will be 1440 or 1800p, 90-120fps.

TVs seems to be skipping any resolution between 1080p and 4K, so it doesn't make sense to go 1440p or 1800p. Unless you aren't going for native resolution. Even then, I doubt 4K will be a standard and developers will prefer to push as much as they can @1080p.

I can see ms coming out with a new console in 3.5 years. Just like the the first box to 360 if they continue to get dominated. Too early to even worry about PS5.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you'll never see fighting games at EVO running on machines which will suffer from Local play Lag, it would mean mastering a game which would have timing altered by your internet connection.

So many people calling the PS5 a teraflop already. Do we need to talk about it?

2005/2006 they would have probably said the same thing about the 8gb in those,

Not at all. Remember that's 8GB for both CPU and GPU; in 2006, gaming PCs had 2GB or even 4GB of RAM and 1GB of GPU memory. They could reasonably have forecasted that 4-8GB for the CPU and 1-2GB for the GPU would be needed.

Did people really have 4GB ram in their pc's 2006? It definetly wasnt mainstream then, 4GB RAM still makes up 21percent of Steam, its the 2nd most popular ram configuration. I remember buying a pc around that time with 512MB ram and 128MB vram and that it was a lot.

I have a pc from last year with 16GB system ram+2GB vram and sometimes I wish I had more.
