Yeah, seems about as risky as resistance 3 with no marketing. Who knows how it will go this time.

Are you saying the game won't have marketing? We don't even have a release date yet.
If people didn't take risks, the industry will never move forward.
Hmm, pie.

Bioshock says hello
It is the setting, and era that makes me interested in the game lol. What's making him worry is what makes me what to play it.

It has not had much so far. But nah resistance 3 was from an established ip so their was a little bit less risk if they marketed it well. And being a FPS with multiplayer helped it out as well. While this game is a new ip with no MP. And the Order gets the boost for being one of the few PS4 exclusives so far.
I am just saying the risk is comparable.

A shooter isnt a panacea to a bad game.
Since we are at it... a risk would be to make a Legend of Dragoon 2 for PS4, or a Shemue 3. A 3rd person shooter is pretty safe aslong as its a decent game and doesnt get trashed by reviews.

That puzzles me actually. The basis of product development is to create a product that can be differentiated in the market. The fact that it is different is what gives it a good chance. Doing another military shooter would probably not work so well in a market saturated with CoD, MoH and Battlefield. Actually, the mistake of MoH was to try and be a CoD. If it had stuck to WW2, it would probably have suceeded.
they're releasing a ps4 exclusive near Christmas time and didn't insomnioverdrive the userbase. they'll do fine.
Thanks jlmurph!
