Forums - Politics Discussion - Do You Ever Feel...

Do you ever feel that life is an enormous poo-poo ball sometimes? Like you think 'Wow: I really don't know what to make of that/do about that/think about that?'

I am not looking forward to the politically charged climate this midterms and I am DREADING the next presidential race. My tendency to be unhappy is greatly magnified when the whole country is spitting venom at each other.

Not really, I'm looking forward to the Provincial and Federal elections next year.

Eh, Canadian? It must be nice. Aside from, you know, Rob Ford. But he's just a mayor.

I don't have much of an opinion on him really, I don't live in Toronto. Other than this antics I don't know if he is a good or a bad mayor.

I'm actually quite excited for 2014, and 2016. I'm mostly excited though because my ideology has finally gained momentum politically on the right, and the way things are working out, there might not be much the establishment can do about it. I also think the left is experiencing an ideological shift as well, or at least its prime demographics are.

I just don't want to go through talking about this stuff 24-7 again. It's always depressing. Everybody hates each other.

Oh, damn my mind! I was thinking about something sexual! My exuses! Looks like I need more attention for my dear friend Dome :/

I know what you mean. Politics have become so extremely polarized it's stressful. I want to speak my mind about things and I am very into politics but half the time I just decide I don't feel like fighting about nothing with someone and just don't say anything, I just shut down and the other half I'll post a comment online and wonder if I am going to regret it. It's exhausting, I want to be involved but what's the point? To make more of my hair fall out?

Is it not possible that you can make it clear to the people you spend the most time with that you don't want to talk about elections and politics, as you feel it is a polarizing and divisive topic (the nature of politics is polarizing.)
