Forums - Gaming Discussion - Would you consider Titanfall a flop?

Was Titanfall on Xbone a Flop?

Yes. 164 30.31%

No. 222 41.04%

It sold pretty average. 150 27.73%

Total:536

No, and I wish it dethrone CoD on XBOne, it would be good for the whole industry.

Yup. Because a game that sold 1 million+ copies in such a short period of time can obviously be considered a flop!

By any reasonable standard, of course not, it's selling more than respectably and seems to have set a foundation for a franchise of games in the future.

By the hype, no, it hasn't changed the fps genre forever, it hasn't even changed squad based fps multiplayer forever and from microsoft's point of view I doubt it pushed as many consoles as they had hoped either.

It's sold well but i think it's below many expectations

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

The game itself isn't a flop, but it is a complete failure. It didn't do what it was supposed to, not even close. For all the money MS poured into it, all the hype it had, the price cuts and throwing it in for free. Yup, failure. Let's not revise history guys.

What was it supposed to do?

I wanted it to cook my fucking dinner (and it certainly failed at that).

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

I understand the game was "supposed" to sell more according to some fanboys, according to MS and Sony but it clearly is considered a flop by people that want it to be a flop just so they can brag about it not being what it was "supposed to be".

According to people that have the game, it's a great addition to X1 and X360 portfolio, hope it sells more than COD. This would mean there is a game on X1 people consider better than COD. If it has to be considered a failure then judging by sales, many games on next gen are to be considered failures on both next gen consoles.

Also... do we know how much MS invested in the game? Respawn are like what... less than 70 people? People say MS invested a huge amount in this game without knowing exactly... keep spreading BS until no end people, someday you'll get it right.

ahahahaha

I love this place.

Anyway, how much money did MS pour into it? Since we're not revising history and all. And how much of that investment have they had a return on? I'm glad someone here has numbers and knows what it was "supposed to do".
