Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why I feel Knack and Ryse: Son of Rome are best launch titles.

Not even close like someone already said Dead Rising 3 is better then both of them. Also if you include the two free tracks that Forza 5 got post launch Road America and Long Beach its better then both of those also and if you also include the DLC car packs its not even close.

But Dead Rising 3 destroys both. That's the best launch title.

Oh really? So you enjoyed it on your Xbox One? :p

I prefer games that have simple but engaging gameplay/controls. Knack has simple controls, but it lacks polish and the character and controls are just not fluid. The story was predictable but still fine. I played with my kids watching. My wife played the co-op Knack. We played on "easy" because not interested in the game being any harder than it already was due to how stiff the controls are.

The best launch game for PS4 is inFAMOUS: Second Son. The controls are amazing. They are simple and intuitive, while also being highly engaging and fun.

I have not played Ryse, but I would give it a try if I were to get an XBO because I am interested in the Rome setting.

I really enjoyed Ryse (needed deeper combate and more gameplay elements IMO), but haven't played, or bought Knack yet.

I enjoyed Knack's simplicity and art style as well. It looks pretty slick. If the story and characters weren't so mediocre, it would get way more respect. I really think it deserves a sequel, to try at least one more time to get it right.

I think they are the perfect games because they set the bar so low, that any decent/good game is the next coming of jesus (a la TF and ISS)

I think there are just too many characters and no focus in the story, if telling so many characters' story was trimmed it could work.  And i agree, I hope it gets a sequel.  I don't know if it sets the bar low or creates a new bar which critics are uncomfortable with.  Fun over mechanics.  And it's funny that when Titanfall comes out with much less conent and same price as these games, its fun factor get sit near perfect and perfect scores.  Mind you I think Titanfall is REALLY fun, I was Gen 5 in a couple days.  But I would be a fool to think it is a 9/10, 10/10 game.  It has only a few maps, few weapons and horrible campaign and very few modes to begin with.  Once all of this is fleshed out in the next 3-6 months I think it has the potential of a 9/10 game but at lauch. NO

As far as replay value goes Forza 5 is the best launch title out of all the launch games I played it over 100 hours and I'm still not close to unlocking all the achievements the game has.

Thanks for your opinion.  But its just that an opinion.  LIke all reviews are as well.  Just because I or anybody says something doesn't make if law/fact.  Because I think Dead Rising is BORING in ALL CAPS.

What is this Polish you all are speaking of. Expound.  Not being funny but really curious.  Because that is very broad.  And infamous is not simple and intuitive you can have over 30 powers and moves to remember at one time and that is anti-simple and anti-intuitive.  I like that game as well but controls are fluid but not simple.

General mld, nextgen720 is making a mockery of your legacy.  Seriously as even a Sony fan I feel bad for the Xbox camp having this guy represent xbone.  It's time to come out of hiding.

In terms of deeper content, what would you add? Because as I mentioned it sticks to reality and roman style of fighting.  You want magic or weapons that werent used in that era or something?  Curious to what gameplay elements you would want.  I think an issue as we as gamers make broad statements about what we want and indeed don't know what it is that we want.We just want the developer to come up with it out of thin air.
