Meh calling people idiots and complain about a game not deserving the praise is really sad though... We all can find a game that we think that doesn't deserve the praise that can be your opinion but when you make videos about it and tell other people's opinion to be wrong it is getting very sad.. Not that I care so much =p.

ehh.. I wish I didn't read that..

it's a "discussion" in which everybody loses (including the reader)

Dan is "more" in the right than joe is based off the twitter conversation you posted. Joe shouldn't have misquoted ign, since he clearly didn't read the review but only looked at the score, and then misquoted that. 8.9 is a big difference from 9. If they wanted it to be rounded up then they would have given it a 9. Dan may have overreacted a bit, but so did Joe. That's my opinion anyways.

Even Joe said he wasn't specifically saying 'IGN' or Dan when he mentioned '9/10' (He also mentioned 10/10, didn't he?) he just happened to show the IGN score at the time. This isn't misquoting IGN because you can't misquote something when it is a print screen.

I find this quite odd as I would have expected most people to side with Joe, not because of the review but because of Dan's attitude. I don't even watch Joe but this Dan guy (I've never heard of until now) comes off as a right numpty. He went off on one about the different between 8.9 and 9, which to most gamers is pretty much a 9. If IGN want to do 'point' scores then they should do them out of 100. And Dan stepped randomly having a go as well not even about Titanfall.

Hmm, pie.

Joe has my respect far more than IGN ever will. He wasn't wrong, Titanfall while a fun solid shooter is not a 9 or 10/10. It really frustrates me how reviewers don't take into account the entire package, rather just what their mind percepts as fun.

Yes its not a 10/10, I agree.

But then I dont think any game is.  You name your 10/10 and I'll disagree.

Opinions huh?

But your bolded bit is nonsense. I think a reviewer is allowed to review on any metric or standard they want... a reviewer is merely posting their own opinion.  Its no more valid than your opinion or mine.

Of course none of this stops AJ from being a parasite.

lol , why is he a parasite?

Because he makes a living reviewing video games :^)

8.9 is VERY different from 9?

Doing the proverbial dick size contest and saying "ha ha ign's got more follwers than you!!!"?

Saying he did it for personal gain?

I like Dan Stapleton, but holy god he and IGN are being big babies in this.

I think its a prefect example of what's wrong with gaming now a days.

Angry Joe is such a great guy, even though he's more of an Xbox fan, but since he's no fanboy i like to watch his reviews. IGN is just upset they were called on their cheerleading BS.

They must also be able to validate it and analyse it, you cannot be considered a serious reviewer if you act like a kid that has no understanding of the medium you are posting reviews about and just say: I liked it 10, I did not like it 1... otherwise any review would be worth as much as another.

Now for games this is a bit complicated, I have not played Titanfall, but I felt Joe's review of it was the most informative I could find... so I will concentrate on Infamous:SS which is a game I played quite a lot and liked, some reviews were downright hailing it as just amazing, while others seemed bothered by many aspects and I felt they were too harsh (especially the Rev3 games review made by Sessler right before he left)... Sessler developped a good language to talk about games over the years, he obviously has great knowledge of the subject, but the impression was that he nit picked details that usually does not bother him in other similar games (the assasins creed games have tons of repetitive and meaningless side missions, they still get high marks... despite the poor combat mecanics) and failed to enjoy the great combat system, variety of move and powers.

Now even if I really like Infamous, I could see how some people would give it a score ranging from 7 to 9 on a scale of 10... below 7 would be unfair, above 9 if debinitely over blown.

It seems like the IGN reviewer picked a fight over a relatively meaningless technicality. You're a critic, guy. You need a thick skin and you need to invest more time playing and, more importantly, finishing video games and less time worrying about what an amateur critic is doing on YouTube.
