Assuming that the Xbox One will pass the Wii U and that the Wii U will pass the Vita, who will pass first?

obviously I say Wii U, but then, I would.

Well Wii U has to start outselling PSV on a weekly basis first. At least Xb one is selling more than Wii U weekly, so it seems like a no brainer.

So far this year Wii U has only outsold PSV for 2 weeks.

Well it all depends doesn't it.

If Mario Kart turns that around on a week by week basis, or if Vita/XBone sales falter then that could change.

To my mind what it boils down to is; will the Xbox One pass the Wii U by Christmas, because with the boost in sales then, the Wii U will probably get within spitting distance of the Vita, if it doesn't pass it altogether.

Assuming this weeks sales are typical, the Xbox One sell 50,000 a week more than the Wii U. And taking round figure from the graph, the gap is ~1.8 million. That would take 36 weeks to close, or 9 months, missing the Christmas deadline...

I have little doubt the X1 will pass the WiiU before the WiiU passes the Vita.

Based on this weeks numbers, even if MK8 permanently doubled the WiiU's sales, it would still be gaining on the Vita slower than the X1 would be towards the WiiU. That's before you even consider that the X1 has 300k less to gain than the WiiU does.

Xbone outsells WiiU in under a year and WiiU outsells Vita never.

I don't know what big exclusives are coming for the Xbox that will give it spikes (if any, I don't know).

But Mario Kart should sell an extra million over a couple of months, and then going into Christmas, with Smash Bros, it should sell in the region of 2-3 million (IIRC, it did over 1 million just in the USA last December), which should allow it to overtake the Vita.

It usually helps if the gap is shrinking, not widening, when you want to overtake something.

Wouldn't it be a better question if Wii U was actually selling? The weekly numbers have been horrible while Vita gets good bumps from any Japanese title.

XB1 overtakes WiiU this year, WiiU overtakes Vita late 2015 if never.

The poll and the posts once again do not match up.

Either trolling or everyone is scared to be outed because the Wii U winning currently looks like the unlikely outcome.

I'll be the first I guess. (besides the OP) Wii U will outsell the Vita before the XBO outsells the Wii U.
