They could have done this for pokemon if they weren't so damn lazy.

/thread right there.  Nintendo could've had an MMO Pokemone game with NFC figurines on top of it raking in all kinds of cash, but they'd rather just put out the same lazy sequels generation after generation.

Nintendo does like making sequels. But lazy sequels? Or do you mean they are lazy for releasing sequels a lot of times?

Lazy as in they've essentially been rehashing the same game on handhelds each generation for almost 20 years now with minor facelifts each time, and on consoles they've yet to release a full-fledged 3D Pokemon game that isn't some type of spinoff or battle-fest.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Ah, ok.

As long as the executive directors of Pokemon ? and ? have control, don't expect it to change.

Pokemon just doesn't appeal to you anymore. Time to let it go.

There are six generation of pokes already, what sequel would have you made instead?

Can't Nintendo just do this themselves infinitely better? It would be cool if they started the trend but its not like anything is stopping them from joining in...

Maybe thats just it. They cant do it better

I think they easily could...not only do they already have NFC technology built into their console, but like the OP stated, Nintendo has some pretty great properties that are much bigger than Spyro has ever been. Its not a question of whether or not they can do better, its whether they will put the necessary effort into it to make it something great.

Additionally, whatever Nintendo does with NFC technology, they will be getting all of the money from it, instead of splitting it between Activision and Nintendo...I am not saying that this wasn't a missed opportunity, I am just saying that calling it a "mistake" by Nintendo may be a little off base. It was a risk, and we don't know the details of the proposed deal...

OK thats fair. I still stand by my better question. Im talking the game itself. Can Ninty make a game that is better than what is already out? Yes Pokemon is bigger than Spyro but is it bigger than Disney? Ninty is still on that we dont like to copy BS and thats what got me worried. IMHO they would rather make something "different" than "good" even if that different thing isnt as good as what is already available.

Disney Infinity is a whole different thing, not what is being talked about in the OP (assuming that is what you mean when you bring up Disney)

Otherwise, it remains to be seen what Nintendo will do...like I said, they have the capabilities to make something great but we have no way of knowing what they will do until the announce it.

yeah i was talking Disney Infinty, but is it really a whole different thing? the tech it uses is pretty much the same as Skylanders, even though the games themselves play different or am I completly wrong..

Fair enough they do have the capabilities no argument there, but and I know im being a negative nilly. Will they use it?

Nintendo doesn't know the future. The whole NFC idea sounded pretty stupid to me when I first heard it too. I can understand why they passed. Besides, I'm sure they've got their own NFC game in development now.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
