I've noticed that my tastes do NOT coincide with the typical Final Fantasy fan's.

They don't have to, everyone has different tastes. Your top 5 is a pretty good top 5.

I like almost all the FF games so I just rate them based on the time I spent playing each one and how many memorable moments I have of them.

Yeah, I guess so. I just found it humorous how I, the guy who made this thread, is going against the common opinions expressed here.

In all seriousness, I'm bumping this one last time because I think people would be interested in thorough results.

1. Final Fantasy VII

3. Final Fantasy X
4. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
5. Final Fantasy IX

I'm not saying, per example, that Crisis Core is a better game than XIII or XIII-2, but I enjoyed more or it was more impressive back then than XIII-2 was.
For me, the games of this franchise were back on the PS1 and PS2 era the highlight of the year and maybe of the whole gen and now they are just good games I can get excited for and also enjoy playing, but aren't that special anymore.
I have no doubt that FF XV will be great and I'll play the hell out of it, but I don't think it will be one of my favorite games either.
