Few video game series have been as big and notable for as long as Final Fantasy. From the humble roots of the Famicom original to the latest HD remakes and MMO, Final Fantasy has been a force to be reckoned with for decades, with dozens of titles.
Let's figure out what VGChartz's favorites are.
This is a "Most Wanted" style vote, where you vote for your five favorite Final Fantasy games in descending order. You can vote for any five games in the Final Fantasy series. The full list of eligible games is below. Votes will be counted at least as late as April 30.
Example:
- Final Fantasy 1 (Most Favorite)
- Final Fantasy Tactics (Spinoffs count)
- Final Fantasy 3 (Will be read as the NES title)
- Final Fantasy X HD (Will be considered a vote for Final Fantasy X)
- Final Fantasy Legend (Became its own series, but the first game was a Final Fantasy spinoff)
Eligible Games
- Every Numbered FInal Fantasy from 1 to 14 (Remakes and/or ports included in same categories as originals)
- Direct prequels and sequels to Numbered entries (Such as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy X-2, etc.)
- The Tactics subseries (For the PS1, GBA, DS, etc.)
- Games not released worldwide (Type-0, Agito, etc.)
- Crystal Chronicles games (Even the WiiWare-only ones)
- Various other spinoffs (Dissidia, Theatrhythm, etc.)
NOT Eligible Games
- Chocobo games NOT labeled Final Fantasy (For the same reason WarioWare wouldn't be on a Best Mario Game list)
- Kingdom Hearts games
- Sequels to Final Fantasy spinoffs that became their own series (Mana, SaGa, etc.)
- Compilations as their own titles (Although parts of compilations, like "FF! for the GBA," are eligible)
- Games that merely have Final Fantasy cameos, but are otherwise unrelated (Mario Sports games, etc.)
