Key points: Recreate the NES-era feel of isolation
-Very hostile overworld
-No guidance on where you need to go or what you need to do next.
-Integrated, segmented world. No "hub", more like a giant Monster Hunter map.
-Like Monster Hunter (and partially Metroid Fusion or Resident Evil 3) an unkillable monster roams part of the map that you have to run like hell from when you find it.
Some people in my thread put better spins on it (TheToneStar had a good-sounding idea that returning life and sound to the world was part of the game)
