Forums - Website Topics - Mobile friendly website

So i, like many others here, often visit on my mobile / tablet devices, while its usable to some extent (more so on tablets), for mobiles the site is borderline unusable, the dropdown and profile management system is all but worthless with incorrect pages loading and the inability to login through the normal page without it redirecting to signup (does this on desktop browsers quite a lot too unless youre fast).

vgchartz buddy on the other hand doesnt even show on any of my mobiles, and its a massively helpful thing when keeping track of your discussions.

So basically I would like to request a mobile friendly site, that does the following:

@ Cut down user management with simply messaging/wall posting functionality
@ Ads either completely removed or tastefully placed, no pop-up-over-content bullshit
@ Clearer page layout with easier access to posting buttons and while in mobile mode auto-clipping of extended quote trees, hell do that anyway by default and save the moderators a lot of hastle.
@ Integrated VGchartz buddy to show at the top of forum pages on mobile, with an option in profile config to change location to bottom
@ Automatic disabling of signatures in mobile mode to make browsing easier, with user-set options to also disable avatars / posting media if required, so people wanting to browse on mobile without raping their data plans can do so.

Lots of other good mobile friendly stuff.

Its a huge ask I know, so i'd like to offer my services to the staff in coding this, hell I could do it entirely myself if needs must, I do not want special treatment in return, i do not want to be a staff member, or be paid, or be in anyones good books, im just sick to fucking death of dealing with the sites shitty layout on mobile devices and i am pretty sure i'm not the only one.

And you can still happily pull the ban trigger when i step out of line (and i will at some point, just being honest)

Quick and dirty example of how It could look >>>>

In thread view, you would be able to tag and untag a thread simply by sliding your finger right or left over the tag box area on the far left, the red boxes for the username would take you to their user page, or a long press on username would list all threads by that user, long press on the thread title would allow you to hide the thread from listing, so if you see troll threads or spamy crap you dont have to deal with it.

For moderators, admin, long press could be used to quick-moderate a user or quick-moderate a thread, long hold would bring up a "lock thread", "move thread" "delete thread" option, where as long press on user would bring up "ban user, warn user, message user" option.

Wouldnt just be a cosmetic upgrade for viewers but a functional upgrade for staff, herpaderp.

In addition to the above, the top panel and buddy panel would automatically collapse when a user selects the text entry box of a thread, giving enough space to see the post / text entry box along side the onscreen keyboard, because you know, useful stuff like that matters.

Example of scrolling thread content:

Note that buddy stays where it is, it would auto update every minute so you stay up to date with your posts, while the bottom half would allow easier access to the forum topics and/or search.

Lastly, entering a thread would minimise the buddy panel and give more screen real estate to the forum itself, with the buddy panel toggleable between closed and open.

For your first issue it works well to hold on the link until your browser brings up options such as opening the link in a new tab. Exit that pop up and then the drop down links stay visible.

I seriously wonder if someone high up in the site contacts you for this...I mean you're offering your services for free so idk why they wouldn't.

not really an option on most mobile browsers, and with a large portion of phones, heck my wifes touchscreen desktop machine would bring up a right click menu if you longpress on the screen :(

I've found that if you take off predict text it won't jump around like crazy when you're trying to text. Quick reply is unaffected by the predict text. Mobile is hideous on here

VG Chartz is the Nintendo of gaming forums when it comes to mobile- stubborn, a generation behind and painful to be a fan of; except Nintendo has Miyamoto.

And no popup ads.
