Forums - Website Topics - Developer verification / tagging

I would like to request the ability for a developer to verify themselves with a member of staff (either pre-determined or any staff) so said user can have "developer" under their username or something similar to staff tags currently.

This would allow for any developers on these forums who wish to contribute towards discussion to be able to do so without the usual responses that go along when someone posts in depth on a particular topic.

It would also allow developers to recognize each others presence and better cover particular topics in detail in a more down to earth and informative way, for example i have seen many a thread where I could have gone in to great detail and length to clarify or expand upon a topic then decided against it purely on the grounds that the post would most likely go ignored and/or the usual types making assumptions.

It would also allow for a clear line to be drawn in the stand between someone actually being a developer and someone simply claiming to be, basically if a developer wants to post as a normal user they can but anyone pulling the "im a developer" card would either already have verified with staff or verify their claims.

The system Neogaf use basically, because people pretending to be developers spouting nonsense are detrimental to both the industry and the community.

Around the Network

I agree! I think it will certainly help see through the bs that some people state and we can finally see whose statements are more trust worthy vs someone who might be using google to find some technical words
