Of course not! Those $40 being spent on this would be better used towards getting another game.

Will MK8 be motion controlled steering (via gamepad AND wiimotes) like MK on the Wii or can you simply use the left analog stick/D pad for wiimotes to steer your kart?

Having your steering device tethered to something is good if there is a stopping point to the tilting. That's what I hated about steering with the Wiimote/wheel.

Doesn't matter to me though, because I won't be using the gyro for control in MK anyway.

You can choose between motion or analog steering on the gamepad, but from what I can tell, Wiimote is motion controls only.

Yep, but I believe he was asking about the Wiimote by itself specifically since he mentioned the D-pad, and so that's what I answered!

You had better be able to use the wii mote/nunchuck combo as well. If not, then I will try and see if you can use that new pro controller.
