Very impressive for the 360.

They did an amazing job technically, that's for sure. BP is really a good studio when it comes to porting and after this I think everybody in the industry will have interest in the studio for future jobs.

In some ways it's quite a good position for a studio to be in. They get paid for their work regardless of how well a game sells, perhaps bonuses for sales targets, but I doubt it. Publishers are greedy bastards and they will pay a fixed amount and as low as possible. As long as they do a quality job, and the game is comparable to the games made by the main studio actual sales for the port don't matter.

I thought it was interesting that they couldn't do a download version for 360 because it needed the optical drive to stream the textures while you play in addition to a small hdd install to get around the memory limitation. Something that has been highlighted before for some 360 games where the download versions were inferior. I assume there is no option to fully install titanfall to 360 hard drive as little point if it has to use the optical drive.

What's interesting is the sequel is going to be multiformat and its not impossible we will see a Titanfall game on ps3. PS3 is still selling about 2x that of wii u and 360 in Europe and easily beats the xbone here. It will be a major format here for many years. In Japan its very comfortably beating wii u. It's only really the USA where the ps3 seems to have slowed considerably and is just behind wii u and 360.

It won't surprise me to see an early sequel to Titanfall perhaps Q1 or Q2 next year. It would be good if bluepoint were doing the ps3 and 360 versions. Probably based on a similar engine but a lot more content. I'm sure EA want to establish this IP. Titanfall feels like an incomplete game. I hope Titanfall 2 is a full game with a decent single player campaign.

Bluepoint have done a very impressive job; performance holds very close to the Xbox One version, with the only real differences being reduced screen and texture resolution.
Having seen both versions in motion on actual consoles now (not just in online videos) I can say with confidence that the difference really isn't that big.
If you have a 360, I'd get it on that rather than shell out the cash for an Xbone, unless of course you're also keen on other Xbone exclusives.
