Forums - Gaming Discussion - Completely redesigned iPhone 6 fully detailed in huge leak from insider

Yes there will be a 4" iPhone. Guaranteed. Not everyone wants a big ass phone. Apple knows that. Women have purses for phablets. Where is a guy supposed to put that monstrosity??

If you're not wearing women's jeans, it'll fit fine in your pocket.

My Nexus is about the size of the rumored 4.7" screen iphone6 and it fits fine in any pant pocket.

The phablets, like Galaxy Note, also fit fine for the friends of mine who own one. Granted I do think they are too large. Hell, I can easily fit my 7" tablet in my back pocket without issue.

There's a lot of dubious to be found here, but this line exudes the most BS. There's absolutely no reason for Apple to include NFC in their phones.

I can imagine Apple launching a larger iPhone, just not at the expense of the flagship-class 4" model everybody knows. Just like the iPad Mini and iPad Air, expect two devices with all the same features, just slighty different sizes.

As for an iPhablet, I'll believe it when I see it.

Edit: And it's not clear if sapphire is really a good solution for screens or not. Super hard means extra scratch resistant, but extra prone to shattering. Shattering isn't a problem where the crystal is in use today, on buttons and lens covers, but it would certainly be an issue for screens. The problem may be addressable with laminates or treatments of some kind.

I suspect Apple's sapphire investments may have more to do with unannounced products than new iPhones and iPads.

The NFC chip in androids are very useful. I've wondered why Apple hasn't added one yet.

From sharing info directly between phones/tablets extremely easily, to paying for things in most stores, to creating your own tap and go settings... its awesome.

Just to get this right, when I think the Iphone4 released, Apple had an ad running on TV telling people that 4 inch is the perfect size because of the size of people's thumbs and that everything above is super bad (obviously to tell people how bad the size of the Galaxys and so on is).

And since then they increase the size of their own Phones to reach that unbelievable bad screen size they made fun about?

Makes totally sense to me!

Yes. For a long time their response to growing Android phones and its obvious popularity was that those people were all wrong and stupid. You couldn't possibly use that in a normal hand.

Then they started increasing the size to the 4" area and stating it was now the perfect size.

Now they are apparently growing to the 4.7" area that most android phones are as well as offering the phablet design originated by Samsung.

I guess normal hand sizes are growing very quickly.

Pretty funny. To me it is like a “hey customers we lied to all of you, we only told you that everything above 4 inch is bad because we didn't have somethng bigger to offer but in realty we find it great. Please understand“

The resolution isn't sounding correct... The S5 and most Android super phones are at 1080p and the iPhone always launches into the middle of these phones life cycle, so the new iPhone could actually have to collide with 2k+ phones at the end of its life cycle. Their retina display was always a big bragging point and I doubt they would let their high end device be so much inferior in that aspect.

I'm sceptical about the amount of RAM memory too, they would go with 2GB for sure. A display fully made of sapphire is another problem, I remember reading about high costs for the fingerprint sensor because they had to make it using sapphire, so a full display could still be too much costly. This looks fake (despite something looking correct).

In 10 years, punches will probably be the deadliest weapon ever...

There is always a "leak" before a new iphone is released.

NFC as a payment platform is foundering. Retailers don't like it, consumers don't like it.

As for sharing data, Bluetooth 4.0 accomplishes the same task with far greater performance and range.

The only advantage NFC offers is scanning of unpowered tags, but that's a feature that people already aren't using QR codes for. Again with better range.
