wtf!?!? but colbert report???

I know, the Colbert Report is awesome.  So much better than Late Night talk shows.

yeah this really pisses me off.  i mean i guess this make colbert more "accessible" but there is no way he'll be able to really "be himself" on late night like he was on colbert.   we're trading in unique, comedy gold for more generic PC-friendly bullshit comedy.  i'm soo disappointed right now.

Absolutely agree

Stephen Colbert has basically been telling the same joke and keeping it funny for ten years. Probably good that he finds a new joke before we come to our collective senses, rise up, and cast out the blowhard pundits he's made a career of lampooning.

That's still on, right? We're still gonna do that?

Can't really say it's his fault, he's just commenting on what politicians are giving him.  That our politicians are like broken records, is the more concerning issue heh.

Who's blaming him? Most comedians don't have ten years of funny in them, even if they move on to new jokes. I know he has a small army of writers behind him, but keeping one joke going for ten years and about 150 episodes per year is a grueling task. He's up to almost 500 hours of onscreen douchebag punditry, not counting Daily Show and other appearances.

Makes you wonder if he'll ever really be able to free himself of the persona.

Well, I didn't really take exception to it or anything, so not a huge deal either way hah.

He's pretty good at switching persona's though, oh man, I just thought of something...maybe he'll be able to do Harvey Birdman again!  And Stranger's with Candy!

EDIT: Not sure why I thought that, come to think of it, he'll be doing more shows per year.

EEEEEE! Isn't he a little bit too much? I like him, but that stations demographic may find his noise too much for their pallets.

I can't imagine he's going to have as much of a leash on CBS as he does on Comedy Central, that's kinda why I'm not liking this move.

Yeah, word from CBS is that Colbert will be 'himself' as opposed to the Colbert Report persona.

That sounds a bit boring then...

This is probably a great move for him career wise, but I am going to really miss The Colbert Report.
