Besides the fitness console they are releasing. I mean their real next gen console! I am thinking as short as 2015 (same time as Zelda U so it's on both consoles at launch), to 2016 so fans are not mad about buying the Wii U. I do not think Nintendo wants to continue the discontinue the Wii U but rather release another console and have their games come out for both (Wii U 2.0 version having better graphics). 3DS seems to be crashing hard Nintendo might release one more pokemon game (ruby and sapphire remake) then release the 4DS. What do you think?

I'm hoping 2017-2018 for the console, and the handheld will most likely be released around 2016. If Nintendo is doing a console-handheld, my guess is 2017.

As I've said before, if Nintendo releases too soon, they will just be in the same problem they are in now. There is a sweet spot somewhere but it isn't anytime soon. Nintendo needs to think about the long term, they have plenty of cash to stick out the short term...

If they can't think of anything they might as well release a very cheap GamePad/Wii BC-less Wii U system and keep developing games for it. If they already have new ideas though, I'd say around 2017.

November 2017 or November 2018 are safe bets.

2018, Wii U out of commercial in 2020.
