This was a good thing. Taking themselves too seriously was part of the reason RE1-3 sucked. B-movie ridiculousness only works when it isn't played straight.

That's because Resident Evils 5 & 6 weren't developed by Shinji Mikami. A typical oversight made by Resident Evil fans.

It's also funny how Resident Evil fans attack RE 4 and say "THAT game is the reason why Resident Evil franchise went down the action route".

I didn't hear anyone complaining when Resident Evil 4 came out. All I heard was... "OMG! The Regenerator is SCARY! One of the most amazing videogame enemies of all time. He regenerates a body part if you blow it off! Wow!".

Basically, people are looking for a scapegoat for the failure of the franchise.

Pitiful. 

Anyways, Dead Space is a great game. Dr. Charles Mercer is a creepy and scary villain.

Come off it. Resident Evil 4 is about as perfect a TPS can be.

EVERYTHING about it is fantastic.

The gameplay, enemies, set piece battles, treasures, Merchant, boss battles, atmosphere, weapons. EVERYTHING.

Metacritic has a "user score" of 95/96

Now, surely that can't be fanboys?!? Lol.

Like everyone said Dead Space one was fantastic, brilliant survivor horror, two was good....the dead space 3 happened, went RE 6 on us, there was no horror what so ever, it basically became a tps. The weapon customizationx was cool but that was about it.

And with all those micro transaction it might as well be called Dead *please insert money* Space 3

I agree, it was scary. I liked it the best of the series also. The first time going through the outside ship sections was unnerving to say the least.

Scary until you learn to predict when the scary parts are going to come. Still great up until the end, though. I was working on DS2 but then my PS3 died. Gonna have to start all the way over one day.

Yeah, played Dead Space 1 when it came out. It's great but I'll take 2 over it anyday. 3 was terrible though, I didn't even try to play through 3 again.

I prefer Dead "franchise" 3 tbh. Killed the horror and changed it's survival into pay to survive. I'm playing through it now but it's just wrong when I stop to think... damn why do those bots take so long to return... only to remember that it feels shit because I've not paid money for them to be faster.

There is something about zombie children and babies that really felt messed up in that area, then telekinesising them as grenades... wtf at the devs behind that. Fantastic bit of horror but from a messed up mind.

I will admit, the Epilogue DLC for Dead Space 3 was actually better than the game itself.

More focus on horror.
