Limited resources, free to play. Not a good combination.

Bummed about respawning with all your shit, too. Oh well, there's always hope for a DayZ port I guess.

What? Where did you read that lol?

The article.

Much more realistic is to guess that Day Z and The Walking Dead are the reasons. Nothing against TLoU, it's one of the best games this gen but I think it hasn't much to do with the amount and success of zombie games right now.

Oh, i absolutely agree, i just wanted to point out that the Zombie "fad" wasn't over then and it still isn't

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Yes! More free-to-play! I can't wait!

Ahh ok, thought you meant that The Last of Us changed it but you mean  that people only said it to downplay the importance of The Last of Us? Now I got it (hopefully)

'Won't be pay to win' my arse.  Thats the tagline of every pay to win game.

Have you played Planetside 2?

In the live stream, John said when you die all your stuff drops. You have the chance to go pick it back up, that is unless someone hasn't already taken it. Same way it works with DayZ and Rust.

This sounds like the game I've been waiting for... minus the f2p part... hopefully that doesn't screw over the game itself... I mean honestly I don't like sub's for games on consoles but this one I would definitely sub!

You have no idea of the scope of the game. Also it is technically is not even in Alpha yet....

The scope isn't really relevent if you are streaming in content it doesn't really matter how big the world is after a point. You will only see what you see and as long as they are smart will only sync what is happening around the client. So it doesn't really matter if the game world is 2km x 2km or 20000km x 20000km.

For example Outerra a project made by a dozen people with a game world which is earth (yes the entire thing) to scale

Or Infinity Quest for Earth which is an MMO with an entire galaxy of 200 billion star systems where you can fly to any planet and down into the atmosphere seamlessly.

The scope of a game is extremely relevent. The larger the world the more work there is to do the more it costs to make..... That is why games like Skyrim will never be the best looking games (without mods) as I said this game is pre-alpha and it does not look very bad at the point it is at now.

Agree to dissagree. The game just looks like the cheap cash in that it is. For a game that is launching this year, even for a MMO it looks poor.
