Let's be honest. Mario Kart will only drive around two million units maybe less. Unless of course, Nintendo does a price cut on the day of release along with a bundle of the game. 

Most people are acting like Mario Kart is the almighty. It will start off and get the console decent sales until the next title, but it won't save it completely. 

What will save it though, is smash bros. Let me ask you this, who in their right mind, would not want this game after seeing last night's direct? No one that's who.

This game is going to target all types of gamers. Nintendo fan's, fighting game fans, Mega man fans, Sonic fans, and gamers that find nostalgia in this. 

Case in point, I'm calling it now, Mario Kart will get the wheel turning, Smash Bros will take it home.

And I agree, if MK8 and SSB don't move units, Nintendo may as well hire me and go back into the sex business (which might do well considering how hawt Zero Suit Samus looks) until their next console comes out (Or Zelda U)

Except for the fact that Mario Kart has always been a better seller than the Smash series. Although I do agree that Smash bros will probably move more systems than Mario Kart.

500K people in one day is a lot. So we can expect a lot as well. 

I'm calling it now, both of them will underperform.

mario kart has more mass appeal than smash bros... Mario kart will definitely be more successful, but I don't think either one is enough to keep a sustained console boost going. Wii U needs a price cut and better support.
