Forums - Sony Discussion - Is the Last of Us Remastered a system seller, or just something to fill a gap in the release schedule?

It may well be filler but at the very least it's recent, critically acclaimed, and commercially successful filler.

Maybe both. At the end of the day, there's nothing really wrong with it. It'll be profitable from the get go, especially if it sells well enough, plus it'll give people who bought a PS4, but didn't get the chance to play this masterpiece on PS3, a chance to finally play (on superior hardware in 1080p 60 FPS no less). Me, personally, I platinumed the first one and wouldn't mind doing it again. ;)

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

It's both.

If this was announced at Sony's E3 conference, it would mean they don't have much to show. So right now, it's not much of a gap filler, since they must have newer announcements for E3.

I think most of the PS4 early adopters have already played this game on PS3. I don't think there are enough converters to drive more than additional 2 million in sales tops.

I anticipate TLOU to have more success as a PSNow title.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

every game is a system seller, just to different degrees.

Without a doubt it will help move some systems and I'm not really one for remastered games....But I would gladly pay for a PS4 version of TLOU, Its a great game.

You'd think no, as I sure wouldn't buy a system for a game I already have/could get and play on a system I already own, but then you have to look at Call of Duty: Dogs!

Gamers obviously bought Ghosts for PS4/One thanks to the improved grass!

Not a system seller, it fills the gap and also help to increase the studio/game fame. Lot of people just didn't have a PS3. Could sell quite well in fact.

really just to fill the gap especially for gamers who didn't have a ps3 or missed out on the title most I c this doing thou is .75 to 1.25mil
