Forums - Sales Discussion - Final Fantasy X/X2 HD remaster sells a million units.

i dont know if all the feedback S-E is getting about this matter is a good thing. LEts be honest guys, traditional turn-based RPG are outdated and ii think is kinda scary to see this amount of support for the "go back to your roots" arguments.

Well, maybe is just me

Let's just hope this doesn't make them think making FFX-3 is a good idea. The bonus audio and supposed rumoured comic are disturbing.

Eitherway, sold more than LR, right?

Well I don't think it would be a bad idea...

Honestly ? It would be a bad idea...

If a new Final Fantasy game must be made, let it be an actual new story.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

And thus, Final Fantasy is a enigma. I'm glad they innovate with every entry in the series.

Why is it outdated? Some of the most popular RPGs are turn based (Pokemon, Dragon Quest for example), and even some of the most popular iOS/Android RPGs are turn based ones. They're very popular still and It's good that they are. They're very strategic in comparison to most mindless button mashing action RPGS.

It's outdated because you can't evolve it beyond what Square has done. FFXII and FFXIII were still turn based, but they had to turn the system upside down to innovate it. And just going with what is popular isn't a very good direction for a development team as you ignore what the creators may want to do.

Note to Square: No more Call of Doodoo Gears of Final War Halo Fantasy.

K?

Everyone so hung up on the combat system when talking about JRPGs being outdated.

The hell with the battle system.

Give me a epic story of the likes we haven't experienced since Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV, etc...

I don't care if it's turn based or paradigm shifts or whatever, just give me story revelations that permanently scar my psyche.  Stop with the half ass last minute shoe string stories while over "innovating" everything else to death for no practical reason other than just to say you did.

900 CGI artists and no writer, or Michael Bay for your writer. That's a swell recipe for JRPGs, hows that been working out for ya?
