Decent PS4 sales, another 60k or so added to the gap for them. :)

Also, is NPD this thursday or next? The 10th or the 17th?

This Thursday. Every second Thursday of the month

When I see the PS4 selling better in NA than EU there has to be supply issues for our European friends given how much better the PS3 sold there.

lol you gotta be fucking with me with those vita numbers. lol, just 20k away from the Xb1? higher than PS3, 360, WiiU? i mean come on guys, Vita is the fourth best selling console this week in the world! i know its mostly due to japan but wow lol. gaming might be doomed after all

I think it might be next Thursday for some reason.

What is happening with Vita? Why these Japan numbers? And most of all, why is it selling like that in the rest of the world (it's like 13k outside the main regions)?

Unlike in the west it actually gets a decent stream of third party games in Japan, even if many of them are smaller titles and multiplats, plus the back catalogue is pretty good when you look at it (God Eater 2, FFX HD, Soul Sacrifice, Toukiden, Persona 4 etc.). It's been consistantly doing 25k-30k these past few weeks, and this week Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2 (or whatever it's called) launched with a nice HW boost. Vita's holding its own in Japan on its own merits

Also the VAT increase caused some people to go ahead and buy items.

Perhaps, but an extra 5% on 20000yen is only an extra 1000, so about $10 (~£7?) so I doubt the effect was that massive. Jewellery and cars were probably affected far more, maybe big electricals like TVs and fridges, that kind of thing

That would be a couple of days ago. It's been at a discount for longer than that. Pretty sure this is the first week of the cut.

Never mind the one on microsoft store started on the 25th. But how many people are on the internet on that specific site. I expect a small boost next week as it hit more retailers

Japan: Vita's saving grace

Using the search, it looks like it started on 21st March at Walmart: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=180542&page=1#

So there would be a full week of sales.
