insane how titanfall acounts for about 40 to 50 % of xbox one SW sales

Same for inFamous on PS4, what's your point? They're new games.

The rise in sales tax from 5% to 8% did prompt a lot of sales and special promotions before April 1st. While a 3% price hike on Vita might seem like small potatoes, there was just generally more store traffic and activity that week here in Japan.

Sofmap had a special PS4 display with a big sign about the impending price hike, for example.

That makes sense, and might be true.

However, while I was walking around shopping here in Tokyo, I did not see any more people out shopping at the malls/shops than I normally do on a usual Saturday/Sunday. I was down in Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ginza and Akihabara during the March 29th/30th weekend.

The Super Potato in Akiba was much more picked over than usual when I was there last week and the only explanation I could think of was the tax hike.

School children have also been on break for the last couple of weeks as the new school year started today.

The Vita needs a price cut in the rest of the world outside of Japan.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Titanfall packed in free with the Xbone is definitely helping, unfortunately, it couldn't help it stay above 100K in the third week. What's the next game that could push Xbone. I know all the multiplats coming soon would help push more ps4s than Xbone so sales may be down to Wii U levels soon for Xbone based on VGChartz figures.

>200k for Infamous SS this week?

Smartest nam evila

What is happening with Vita? Why these Japan numbers? And most of all, why is it selling like that in the rest of the world (it's like 13k outside the main regions)?

Vita getting  games every week in Japan in contrast we get 1 game after few month in west

In would be happy if theyat least were quicker in releasing to the west. Phantasy Star Nova is the big launch of the year for me and it still doesn't have a western release confirmed.

They need game not price cut last price cut did nothing to vita in the west

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Titanfall bundle+pricecut is just managing to keep Xb one ahead of PS4 in USA. MS did what it needed to do to get Xb one ahead of PS4 in North America (by my calculations Xb one outsold PS4 in Canada by ~1000 units, which is quite a large %). But it took a pretty monumental effot to put Xb one in that position, which is not especially secure. However I expect it stay marginally ahead at least until PS4 gets a compelling exclusive. Infamous was great and all, and a timely release to help keep sales going, but it's not one of Sony's shining stars.

I'm going to go ahead and assume PS4 has no stock issues aside from perhaps 1 or 2 smaller markets, so it's no longer a factor. I see in some places Sony is bundling Ass Creed and NFS at no extra cost. I think possibly one of those games might be the first AAA PSN+ game for PS4, perhaps coming in May or June. I'd quite fancy getting Ass Creed as a "free" game, because as much as I'd like to give Ass Cred a try I don't think I'm ever going to buy an Ass Creed game.

Not surprising that PS3 is selling pretty well. For the price of the console and 1 year of PSN+ you get a whole lot of quality gaming without having to shell out a single extra cent. Now is a very good time to buy a PS3. In fact now that I have PSN+ I expect my PS4 to get not much use until either The Order, Uncharted 4 or Dragon Age III gets released. I think my gaming pattern for the next year at least will be spending most time on PS3 playing the PSN+ games, and occasionally getting on PS4 when a game I want comes down to the price level I'm prepared to pay.

Vita can live with the sales it's getting, though it's fragile given those sales are only coming from Japan. I wonder if Sony is going to "help" western thrid parties put content onto the Vita.

Wii U, at least it's holding steady. But steady at sub-50K isn't much.

Then you are assuming wrondg. Stock is definitely still an issue for PS4. It's gotten way better but it's not yet been fixed. And for all the effort and money MS put into TF, I doubt being "slightly" ahead in NA is what they expected. The X1 will be back to its 50-60k baseline soon

Sure it's more for inFamous. Time like this show that it is not the same generation as before. First inFamous didn't sell as good, despite the fact it was good and with no big exclusive competition at the time.
