Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One will Double Performance with DirectX12

Ok this is getting ridiculous.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Yeah.. no.

Actually it's just another delusional x1 fanboy calling himself developper, who writes articles on Neowin "Where unprofessional journalism look better".

It takes a lot of mind stretching to look at a cpu thread profiling on a PC and conclude from this, that you ll get x2 performance from your gpu in the console. It has been embarrasing for about a year, but now, i don't know... it's just wrong.

Lol what a joke. Its just hilarious on so many levels....

Part of me hopes this happens. Taking advantage of all cores on a CPU and GPU would be amazing. I wouldn't want to give anyone false hope though. Why am I not surprised that MrXmedia is all over even though Stardock has never made a console game?

Honestly if it doesn't happen soon then the damage will already be done, X1 is gonna get the stigma of having inferior multiplats and people will always just assume PS4 has surperior multiplats and buy them on there, similar thing happened to PS3, but it wasn't as bad.

Several games that are multi-play are already being announced with 1080p parity..  The late deveopment kits and buggy software were to blame for MUCH of the "720p" hoopla...  These 2 things have mostly been resolved.  So EVEN without DX12 there will already be less of the whole 720p vs 1080p issues.

DX12 will likely not double anything..  but it will likely allow a smaller gap in game performance.  PS4 will always have the hardware advantage. But the PS3 always had the hardware advantage and we only really saw it in Exclusive titles.

Yes, pretty much that. But remember that the PS4/One hardware difference is bigger than the PS3/360 case. PS3 had a better CPU while 360 had more bandwidth and a better GPU. PS4 has an equal CPU (or maybe better, if the 2.0GHz dtaa is correct), more bandwidth and a GPU that is 50% better.

1080p parity will be a given. Exclusives will be the difference makers as usual, but expect multiplats to have better framerate, better AA and eventually one or another visual improvement on PS4.

So much talk from MS PR about ways where the X1 will be better! Talk is cheap, show us, they can't of course, which is why they talk so much.

I'm looking forward to these articles a year from now where we're promised that within a year the Xbox One will finally get some magical improvement that doubles or triples its performance like the "trusted sources" told us it would. I'm imagining it will be something like telling everyone that every game that people installed onto their Xbox One was secretly installing pieces of a program that would eventually transform your power supply into another 8-core processor using technology from the Roswell crash.

Like what? Wolfenstein? Considering it looks like a 2006 game (though the gameplay seems nice, thankfully!), i'd be surprised if the XB1 couldn't do 1080p.

Witcher 3 devs already said PS4 version is going to have higher res

Watch Dogs will probably have higher res, if the old "leak" is to be believed

You can't really use games that look really dated as examples. That's like praising the XB1 for running a HD remaster of previous gen at 1080p/60fps. Whoopdidoo.

Google can be your friend.  His company has been around for over 20 years.. Has released dozens of apps and games. initially developing for OS/2.. before switching to Windows. They even had a digtial distribution company simiar to STEAM called IMPULSE that sold to GameStop in 2011...

Point being..   this is not a X1 "fanboy"..  and he SHOULD know what he is talking about..  Not saying I believe it though.
