Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Titanfall Xbox One Bundle + 12 month XBLG sub $449 @ Target.com

Damn, I've never been more tempted to get one. That's basically $350 for the console, plus another $100 for game and LIVE.

@people celebrating Microsoft's "desperation," why can't you just be happy that we as consumers benefit from a lower price point?

I wouldn't necessarily call it desperation, but it's certainly not positive. Going from $500 for the X1 and Kinect to $450 for the X1 + Kinect + TitanFall + 12 months of XBL after just a few months isn't exactly a sign that things are going to plan.

Value wise that's the biggest price cut we've ever seen so early in a consoles life.

Among major retailers it's just Amazon selling it at full price now, right? I'm pretty sure BenVtrigger said that Gamestop would be dropping to $450, so that makes Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, and Target all at $450.

Amazon is also at 450, you've just got to use a code.

The only issue with MS dropping their price w/o dropping Kinect is they are still the more expensive console and Sony has a much much better margin than they do. Sony can always cut their price to maintain price advantage. Price wise XB1's only hope is no Kinect, but they would be seriously gimping what MS was trying to do with XB1.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

The price has been dropped in Iceland too btw. Seems to still be an unofficial price drop but it's dropped in price by around $200 (well, it was way too expensive before, still is)

Is that shops or importers/Joe's garage sale?

In Switzerland, the official price is 677 and that is currently the price in the shops. Hiowever, online shops and "dude shops" are simply importing the cheap $450 bundles from the States and sell them for 577 (still a hefty profit. And the "regular" shops are not happy).

I can see them dropping Kinect and selling it separately, but they probably have a contract for a certain amount of Xbones with Kinect for the initinal run (10 million would be my guess) and there could be big penalties if they try to change that.

If this isn't desparation it's pretty damn close. They're giving away the game that was supposed to turn the tide against the juggernaut PS4 and giving away a year of Gold which is their money maker.

Another GAF checked Wallmart.

Walmart is playing a in store commercial announcing the 449 price point as an official rollback. Permanent price drop confirmed.

Seems like Wallmart is not announcing the price like a deal anymory but the real price.

Im not doubting that the price drop is official and final, it makes sense for them to drop the price, but Walmart Rollbacks are not permanent. For example Call of Duty next gen was on Rollback to $40 but is now back to full price.

Yea rollbacks are temporary not permanent.

@toastboy compared to what?

RIP ps3, xbox360.

welcome home ps4 and X1

How long they usually stay on?? Any clue on the Target super deal? That may seriously enhance their sales... you have the best online fps, plus 1y access to use it (because the TF bundle before looked like a trojan horse to make Live sells) and X1+Kinect for a price compatible (if not better - considering the person likes FPS or at least online gaming) so for US it may sell good.
