Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is it safe to buy Xenoblade on Gamestop?

I have family going to the U.S next week, and Xenobalde is literally impossible to find in my country (3 years since that game came out in the west and still can't f*cking find it), and this will basically be my only chance of ever getting the game (legally at least). I know there was a big controversy with Gamestop and used games, and well the only way to get Xenoblade is pre-owned, that's why I'm asking.

According the Gamestop website the game is available at stores in Houston (where my family is going) and at $50 which seems a fair price for the "rarity" of this game, however, can you trust the Gamestop website?

Can you go to a store in person and take a look at it? I worry about ordering online at GameStop because you don't know if you'll get a copy with manual and case.

Good for you for trying your best to get it legally

Well, just click the "check availability" option and if it says its in stock, then yea, they are generally right from my perspective... If it says low stock, that basically means no

It's my sister that's going to Houston next week. I could ask her to check the disk before buying it in case there's something wrong.

According to their website, almost all stores in Houston have Xenoblade "in stock"...for a game that's this "rare" is somewhat hard to imagine that all Gamestop stores in Houston have it, that's why I'm asking if you can trust the site or not.

I would go for it. It might be your last, best chance to get the game.

Mhmm, that is interesting since there isn't a single store in Canada that has it in stock!

What you should do to be perfectly safe is just to call the local store and ask them yourself and maybe even see if they can keep one reserved

If all else fails, try ebay. You might be surprised.

Call them, pay for it over the phone, ask them to email you a receipt and let them know your sister will pick it up - send a copy of the receipt w her-
