I actually really liked this series, even tho I skipped R3.
I was annoyed they took out the Coop mode in R3, if only to distance it from their multiplat endevour FUSE. They also replaced Nathan with the WORST character of R3 and just gave him a personality change....wasn't feeling it...so didn't buy it.

People like you who didn't bought R3 made them go multiplat.. :P

Anyway you should get R3.. best SP of the series.. it's like super cheap right now..

I always felt guilty about not buying it but it came out at a very poor time. There were several games I put in a higher priority than it. Then there was no Nathan Hale(whom I really liked) and they replaced him with someone I despised(even if hes nothing like his R2 self, it really messes with the continuity for him to be so humble now I think), it got put on back order for me.....then more and more time passed.

In my defense, I had to chose between it and those other games because I am poor. I only buy a few games a year, so I have to weigh pros and cons o.

Meh, it was so-so at best for me, I never did finish one or felt compelled to or go back at any point.

I am still burned out on ww2 stuff and that might have been the hang up for me.

i know it's unrealistic to expect these things to keep running forever but part of me gets sad when I realize that a part of gaming will be forever lost to the sands of time. If you were able to keep the hardware up and running, you can still go back and play old games from the 70's and 80's in there original forms. Other types of games will always be around like Candy Land and UNO. Online games, though--when they're gone, they're gone and all that's left are the fading memories of those lucky enough to experience them.

Resistance 3 has one of the best FPS campaigns ever.

It was decent compared to some oter crap released today, but still a pretty crap campaign.  Can spot the people who never did PC gaming in early 2000s, because even an 'average' campaign from then is better than anything put out nowdays.

Okay let's play a game. Name some better FPS campaigns not named Half Life 2 or Bioshock. No mentioning any Battlefield, Call of Duty or Medal of Honor.

Duke Nukem 3D, Star Wars Jedi Knight 1, 2 and Academy, Aliens vs Predator 1+2, Aliens vs Predator 2 Primal Hunt (yes, in those days even expansion packs came with better campaigns).

Hell, even GoldenEye or Perfect Dark on N64 puts modern day FPS to shame in terms of design.

Sorry, only agree with the Aliens vs Predator games (excluding last gen game obviously) and both Goldeneye and Perfect Dark in terms of sheer impact and influence. Also Jedi Knight is not a pure FPS so not sure why you are including this.

Good thing I got the killing machine ages ago in R2. xD I enjoyed the online for R2 with my friends. I have yet to finish R3, so the coop feature will go missed for me. :/

This gets you to see how "finite" some components of games are.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I was lucky enough to get that trophy last week haha Such a pain in the ass to get it though.

Was not a big fan of the resistance series online unfortunately so for me its not that big a loss.

I doubt many people play it regularly at this point. R3's strong point was its campaign.

I'm pretty sure everyone who says they don't enjoy the series has not played R3. Prove me wrong!

@Puggsly: R2 feels a bit different, more about taking down big enemies etc. so not as fast paced. R3 was amazing, and more based on what made R1 work.

and there is a reason why they havent played it.

Lucky for me I platinumed the entire series including Burning Skies.. I love Resistance and Killzone, so it's sad to see one of them fall.. Who knows hopefully at least Sony continues the series on the PS Vita I'd honestly love that. Burning Skies servers are still up and will not get shut down so Resistance isn't officially dead.
