This is what happens to aging games, they're not gonna keep those servers around forever.

I wouldnt really consider Resitance 3 (released in September 2011) old.

Not old; aging. Gran Turismo 5 has also lost online function, this happens to quite a few games in my experience, especially on consoles.

I dont think it was a mistake axing Resistance online as i cant imagine manye people still playing it.  However i do find axing GT5 was the wrong move as it is highly popular.  That felt like a move to get people to move on to GT6.

As for console games i cant think of many.  I remember Halo 2 going down a year or 2 ago but that is the only one i can think of. Im sure there is others, just none off the top of my head.

I played A LOT of Resistance 2 online. Was a lot of fun.

But I think the series was unnecessary and average.

Yeah, I don't think there was a huge presence on Resistance servers at all. Axing the GT5 functionality seemed kind of early but they likely did it to drive the sales of GT6. Kind of annoying in my opinion. Battlefield 3 has greatly reduced server capacity on all platforms, as I know. What's the situation with the Uncharted multiplayer? Or Killzone?

Eh. The Resistance franchise was enjoyable, but nothing too special. Oh well, this piece of news is not really surprsing though!

Pretty boring series, really. The experience was like watching  a black and white TV.

Insomniac said it didn’t know if Sony would be ending online support for Resistance: Burning Skies for the PlayStation Vita, but it doesn’t appear that way according to Sony’s online support pages.

That's all I needed to hear.

RBS MP is the funnest in the franchise.

I liked the games, but I never liked their online. Unfortunate for the ones that do like its online. That's why SP is important to me it's eternal as long as you have the console.
