The forecast for Xbox after E3 will be mighty good.

They should at least address the backlash from last years console reveal and drm rubbish. I think if they legit admitted that they fucked up pretty badly before talking about any new ideas then maybe a few people could forgive the last years Reveal and E3 fallout. I'm personally far too wary of it being swept under the carpet without a word, doesn't take much to lift a carpet lol.

i mean you would swear microsoft said they were going to take their cat and cook it in a pot.  all of these steam owning gamers that cant sell trade or give away their games are mad at microsoft for doing the same thing to make their life easier god forbid.  what the hell is wrong with gamers today?  wah wah wah... bu but i cant sell my games or give them away. wah wah im on the internet 24/7 bu but what if it goes down when im playing my game.

i couldve sold drm better than microsoft.  only thing they fuck up on was the messaging.

Yeah, sure.  Do something customers don't want while your chief competitor does what the customers want.  Add in that your competitor is providing a cheaper and more powerful option.  Yeah, messaging was the problem.  LOL.

actually people dont know what the fuck they want they just move with what is offered.  alot of the stuff people hated when first introduced is the stuff they love and cant live with out now.  i not talking about xbox one i mean life in general.

I agree with you 100% but still the X1 made the wrong moves here. The cable TV one really made me scratch my head to be honest. How did that meeting go?

MS Exec: "Hey guys lets make are box compatiable with cable TV"

Assistant: "Aren't cable TV subscriptions dropping rapidly every year? Should we invest in something like that right now it's only going to continue dropping as this gen goes on"

Ms Exec: "I still have cable TV I'm sure a lot of people do"

Assistant: "....."

orry about the quote tree, mods! I'm on a phone*

I guess I'm a strange one.  I have an anti-Sony mentality sometimes but I've purchased every Sony home/portable they've made since the PS1 (most of them more than once).  PS1, PS2, and PSP were much better than their direct competition imho.  Never really cared for M$ but I like the Xbox brand quite a bit and my heart will always belong to Nintendo (even if M$ and Nintey keep screwing up!).

PS4 is obviously going to be required hardware but for me, I like to have the option of playing everything.  For me, PS4 isn't quite there yet because it doesn't have that one game like the competition has (Wii U didn't get theres until Pikmin 3 if you ask me).  Anyway, sorry about the mindless rant. I'll get to work, now.

Didn't think you were Anti-Sony, just not as interested in Sony as you are in Nintendo, and I respect that you never tried to hide this and you have your preferences... what is funny is that we know you have all consoles and play them all, you appreciate games from all 3 companies and you don' t hide your bias or try to make ok to trash a system because you "have it"... while people that are clearly biased say they are neutral and have all 3 system while hating all games on 2 of them (what a lot of money to expend right?)... I don' t try to hide I love Sony plat, like Nintendo for what they are and like some of their games and don't have any interest in most of MS games and "hate" most of the Mother Company posture and some of their employee shit talk. I get some flack for that, but it's ok. Were you more excited for Pikmin than Mario, or just because Pikmin was the first good game to show up on WiiU?

Didn't even really feel like buying a new Pikmin.  I actually skipped it until after I'd finished 3D Land and was desperate for a new game.  Then, I waited a couple of weeks after I bought it to actually play it.  I think I was playing GTAV or something.  Anyway, when I finally fired it up, I realized I was having more fun with it than virtually any other game of 2013....but then I beat it and haven't touched it since.

I say Pikmin was that game because it came out first but I didn't actually play it until like January 2014.

(aggain, sorry mods! I won't quote anymore.  I swear!)

i understand that feeling. A game we hyped and put to play on 1st day turn meh, a game we forgot for long when we try it we fall in love.

well most people are missing it.  while yes it is for cable they said that anything can be added to the one guide if i recall.  so all the streaming apps people have can be added as favorites so its actually pretty good.

thing is if you did  each show on a gamers/minute  i think microsoft did better on the reveals.  and they damn sure won e3 on games.  but i will say this again.  when gamers start bitchin about entertainment they better stop playing games because last time i looked gaming was entertainment.

Yea but all those streaming apps can also be used on the PS4 on top of that it's got better gaming hardware and cost less. This is one of the reasons the X1 is losing. I don't know why they thought people would be ok paying more for a weaker gaming system just because it can be a cable box also. People are just going to say "eh my cable box is fine" and by the cheaper system. Your essentially asking people to pay $100 more for a fancy remote and lower quality games.

Well.    103 MILLION households out of the 114 MILLION tv watching households have PAID TV. (Cable, Sat, Telco).  Average household has 2.4 people in it.  So about 250 million of the 311 MILLION Americans have it..       80% of the country..       While the Intenet likes to YELL about the death of Cable TV..   it will still be DECADES until this changes much.

So I am sure the meeting dealt with the actual fact and reality of paid TV..  and not the dream world the internet has created.

So. Yes...  80% of Americans have Cable/Paid TV...   and 90% of ALL TV households do..

that argument is getting so stupid stale and redundant.  you arent paying $100 more for a weaker system you are paying for $100 more for more included.  first its not even a cable box so that shows how ignorant everyone that says it are.  somewhere  people will grow the hell up and stop regurgitating the same b.s. over and over.  it is what it is move the hell on.

im still trying to figure out where the competition is?  the only real competition is in the us the rest of the world is worthless in a console war as a whole.  that being said what is losing

1) it dont take a rocket scientist to know that xbox will never be #1 in the world.  360 was in fewer territories and so will the 1.

2) like the 360 most of the countries will never buy the 1 because they hate america and its goods

3) microsoft should say fuck japan market but go after the devs because that market is worst than a joke

4) people have an animosity towards kinect

5) yes the $100 gap made it easy for people to switch

6) yes $100 + kinect = toxic

if you take america and the uk out of the equation, for the lifetime of the 360/ps3 where did the 360 win?  i cant help but laugh my ass off at sony fans glad they are beating xbox.  it better.  i mean the battle is like me trying to beat tiger woods without a handicap.

Yes a lot of people still do have cable TV but your not looking at all the numbers. Ratings are down across the board tons of people might still have cable TV but are they using it? I have cable TV I'm stuck in a two year contract cause my GF wanted it. I don't want it but she does whenever she spends the night it's going to be canceled as soon as the contract is done.

My point is why invest in an industry that's on it's way down? That's not the smart move. Espicially if we're talking the next 5-7 years.Even if someone is paying for cable TV how often do they watch it? That's the most important thing. Are you going to pay another $100 for a feature you'll never use because you hardly watch cable TV to begin with? Ratings and subscriptions are down and continue to go down year after year.

It was a dumb idea and the kinect was a dumb idea and sales have proven as much. Xbox rules the US with an iron fist and now they are struggling to keep ahead of the PS4 (if they even are ahead I don't know exact numbers just that it was close). Removing those things and investing in the gaming hardware of the X1 would have practically killed Sony at this point. I would have gone with the X1 no question (well I did get one but I'm returning it this weekend) if they would have had a machine that was as powerful as the PS4. I didn't want to lose my achivements and all of that.

Hopefully this years E3 won't suck like last years.
Remove the Kinect and drop the price will attract a bigger crowd but they won't remove it since they spent so much $$$ on it. Terrible move, spending so much money on a device barely anyone likes.
I'm looking forward to new IPs. I don't think Halo will save them.
