i'm not sure how to link something from twitter, but if you check her latest post (or use greg miller), Hennig just broke the news that she would be joining as creative director a few minutes ago.
between this announcement, and the knowledge that DICE is making the next battlefront, EA seems to be going all in on the new star wars games. Hopefully Hennig can make a game similiar to the canceled game 1313.
Following her departure from Naughty Dog earlier this year, Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig has joined Visceral Games.
Hennig serves as creative director on Visceral's unannounced Star Wars project, which may be co-developed by EA Canada.
"Over the last few weeks, Amy and I have spent a lot of time talking about what her first project would be," Visceral VP Steve Papoutsis wrote on EA.com. "There are a lot of different directions we could have gone, but I could sense that what really excited her about this opportunity (because let’s face it, we weren’t the only ones knocking at her door) was Star Wars. Amy’s a huge fan. We happen to be making a Star Wars game. Just thinking about the possibilities made both of us even more excited about having her join the team."
Papoutsis also said, "As both a colleague and friend, I’ve always admired her approach to creative development – focusing on nailing down the soul of a game first, and then making sure the writing, the gameplay, the design and the art comes together to form a unified, interactive experience for the player."
Hennig previously worked as creative director on the Uncharted series, and worked with Crystal Dynamics on The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Hennig worked with EA in the 90s, and the publisher intends to make Star Wars games for the next 10 years.
