Irish police suspect bloody car bomber forgot Daylight Saving Time

A Dublin car bomber had to run off into the night “dripping in blood” after he apparently forgot to take Daylight Saving Time into account Sunday night.

“It would appear that the bomber got his timings wrong,” a source told The Mirror UK. “It could be a case where he didn’t put his watch forward on Sunday [at 1:00 a.m.] and the timer went off too soon.”

The man somehow managed to flag down a taxi after the explosion before cops could arrive.

“This certainly was a high-grade explosive used in this bomb. It wasn’t garbage stuff,” the source told The Mirror. “If anyone had been in the car or walking near it at the time then they would have been killed.”

The source also noted that it was possible the bomber underestimated the power of the material he was dealing with.

The target of the attack was a local businessman with no criminal past, the Mirror reported.

Huh. I thought only the US was dumb enough to use Daylight savings time.

I think they call that an "Own Goal" in the United Kingdom (a darkly comic term developed during The Troubles).

I can assure this was nothing to do with the troubles or any organised terrorists and was just some scumbag thug trying to blow up a someone's car.
