I doubt it. The amount Wii U sold there in 2013 versus the amount PS4 will sell there this year is really going to do a lot of damage.

Very unlikely. Wii-U will get one JRPG, PS4 will get hundreds.

Part of it likely has to do with the time period both launched in, at least in terms of initial sales. While it's much less defined than it is in other markets, console sales in Japan do tend to spike during the holidays.

As far as the Wii U goes, though, it's problem wasn't that it's sales dropped after a short time; it's that they stayed at that level for months. Depending on what and when something releases on the PS4, and what Sony does to try and resolve the situation, the PS4 could easily outpace the Wii U.

I dont get it either. I expect XB1 to have a terrible drop because of the high price, 7month delay, not as many Japanese exclusives and it being Japan.

The talk comes from Wii U crashing hard. It will be 4m behind the Wii before MK8 comes out. That same logic was used for ps4/XB1 on a global scale though too and look how that turned out. 10m Ps4s, 6mil Wii Us and 1m XB1s

Nah, I don't think so. But it's gonna take PS4 a looong time to outsell the Wii U there.

At least wait for the end of this year. If the gap is then not smaller than it is now we can talk again but currently the gap is continuously shrinking.

All depends on the games. I think ps4 has a few big ones coming this year. It's by no means certain it won't pass Wii U given what we know.
