Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Capcom be able to retain relevancy in this gen?

They are their own worst enemy right now

The right mix of remakes, re-introduction of old IPs, and exclusives on any of the platforms could put them on the right track.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Here's what comes to mind
-Resident Evil Zero HD on Wii U. 2 player online or local co-op with Gamepad
-A Street Fighter DLC for Super Smash Bros, co-developed with Namco Bandai an Nintendo
-Onimusha reboot. Makes sense as a PS exclusive.
-Keep a good thing going with Dead Rising on Xbox
-A legit new Megaman game

street fighter and monster hunter will save them.

What would Nintendo want to do with worthless franchises ?

Lmao, worthless franchises?

I think they will keep beeing relevant.

They still have Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Devil May cry and Resident Evil. Seems like Dead rising 3 didnt do too bad aswell. Dragons dogma was a hit in Japan.

Really, most of the hate on them was blown out of proportion because of DLC and new versions (when in fact new versions are not something that i dislike).

They did have some failures though. The new IP's like Asura's Wrath, remember me and the terrible idea that was giving Lost planet to Spark after LP2 wasnt sucessful.

This gen they do have to work on rebooting/bringing up franchises like Onimusha and Dino Crisis though. Still alot of untapped potencial there. They cant just outsource everything though.
With that said, i think that they should hire Ninja Theory to make DmC 2 for them. I'm sure that without the PR disasters and with the positive experience many people had with the first game, that a new one is assured to be a sucess (though i want them to work on DMC5 internally aswell).

Step 1: Nintendo buys them
Step 2: Nintendo vs. Capcom
Step 3: Profit

That would actually be a good idea for Nintendo if they could get them to work on multiple console titles again.

They certainly have a plethora of IP's that are popular and would add variety. Actually Capcom is the second best thing for them after SEGA.

Yeah, they are getting worthless by the minute ... Capcom is down to Monster Hunter and if they fuck that up then it's game over for capcom. What franchises have being able to change their terrible image ?

It's quite clear that their franchises are getting more worthless as sales show and you can't even seem to grasp the fact meaning you clearly don't understand business.
