Forums - Nintendo Discussion - EA: Peter Moore apologizes to Nintendo for April Fools' Day tweets.calls them "stupid."

They still deserve that third year in a row Worst Company of the Year. They're acting like children at EA and the worst thing is, people buy those children's games and they get money.

Peter Moore did the right thing here because those tweets were not professional. They sounded like they came from a forum fanboy and not a huge publisher. Tweets like this would be fine from a private account, but those tweets represent a company not a dorm room.

My respect for Peter Moore has gone up just a little bit. I hope all people in the video game industry act like professionals when on the job because that's how you earn respect. This industry doesn't get a lot of that.

That joke was so offensive it puffled my jigglies! <:(

Offensive or not, stupid joke is stupid. You don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Most WiiU owners right now are passionate multiplatform gamers, and if it weren't for passionate players VG tools like Frostbite and the likes would utterly useless.

If any of the mild jokes from @FrostbiteEngine at Nintendo's expense offended you in even the slightest, then maybe you shouldn't be on the internet. You're way too sensitive.

It's funny how this attitude is only ever taken by people who weren't directly insulted. This isn't about offense, it's about respect. Not of Nintendo, but of gamers. Making "We've just finalised our engine for current system X, and it's incredibly well optimised" as an April Fools joke is beyond atrocious. It's the equivalent of, for instance, Microsoft announcing that they're launching the Xbox One in Japan tomorrow and it's coming with three games from major Japanese franchises bundled, at a low price. Such an announcement would not be an April Fools joke, it would be Microsoft making fun of Japanese gamers for a laugh.

Frostbite weren't mocking the Wii U itself, nor were they mocking themselves, or Nintendo. They were mocking gamers who would dare to want the Frostbite engine, and games made using it, on their platform of choice. And going "maybe you shouldn't be on the internet, you're way too sensitive" is pretty much the equivalent of saying to the rape victim "maybe you shouldn't be walking through that area at night, you're too easy to rape", and letting the rapist off without criticism. Obviously, the rape analogy is an extreme version, and there's no equivalence between rape and mockery, but it's the easiest way to demonstrate the absurdity of the attitude - by taking it to its logical extreme.

People are massively oversensitive nowadays.

Yes, you're right. Companies should have free rein to mock and denigrate potential customers, and customers seeing it as disrespectful are really just being "oversensitive".

Or, you know, we could hold companies to a higher standard, and stop being bastards who put down other people for an entirely legitimate reaction.

They really want to be the worst company again! So they try their best for next year^^

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

unfortunately my partner is a huge bioware fan, otherwise we simply wouldn't buy any EA games at all. (and I'm slightly pissed off that I'm going to have to get a ps4 for dragon age 3 when it would obviously run on Wii U)

The joke was stupid anyways....
