Sony Computer Entertainment Opens Chinese Department Among Organizational Changes

Today Sony Computer Entertainment announced with a press release that multiple organizational changes have been finalized at the company.

According to the press release, the Japanese Marketing Department has been Renamed Marketing and Communication Department, while the Management Department has been renamed to Planning and Management department.

More importantly, a China Strategy Department has been opened, under the leadership of  corporate communications manager for Sony China Takehito Soeda.

The move probably heralds the beginning of an expansive move for the Japanese company in the Chinese market after the opening from the local government to the production and sale of foreign consoles in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

Wait a second, China is slowly allowing consoles in their country? If consoles will be normal priced in every electronic store in China. This could be the biggest generation ever!

This again. I'd be really surprised if we see widespread adoption of this gen's consoles in china before the gen ends.

Sony consoles had chinese language options since forever. PS would be a lot more popular in China then xbox, this is a huge potential market, although I expect not much from china for awhile.

PS4 would be a lot bigger in China then xbox period, Playstation appeals a lot more to the asian market then Xbox. Most people are not that political, they dont like americans anywhere either yet xbox sells lol.

Good luck with that sony. Chinese people dont like japanese hardware. I can see the xbox doing better than PS in china but we will see.
I have several chinese friends here in the US and they all hate japan.
