The PS3 is getting some good JRPG's near the end of its life, maybe I should consider re-buying a PS3 instead of rushing to buy a PS4.

Now especially that The Last Guardian has a PS3 release date (Q2 2015 - made recently by Sony)

Link?

Persona 5 doing pretty well. Not a bad showing from Danganronpa 2, either. I expected a bit more from Destiny, though.

There needs to be more Wii U games announced so the Nintendo faithful have a bigger pool to draw from.

The Wii U has enough. It's the 3DS that needs more announced games.

No I disagree, WiiU's lineup is spread over a large interval.

Mario Kart 8 - May
Smash Bros + Bayonetta 2 - Fall 2014
X - 2015 (Summer?)

A big game every 6 months is not enough.

The 3DS lineup for the rest of 2014 is not any better (actually it might be worse). But if it ultimately means Wii U will get significantly more first-party support come 2015, I can deal with it.

What a strange pair of sentences. I never thought I'd see the day when they could be uttered and actually make sense in context.

And just to be clear, the context is which platform has more hype surrounding its upcoming games,

Or it means that WiiU won't get any support. I bought my Wii when Pikmin 3 was a Wii game, and I bought it because I thought it was going to release soon. That was a confirmed title, and it still didn't release on the Wii. Same thing happened with Golden Sun for Gamecube, ended up as a DS game.

Anything can Happen, X could end up being ported for all we know. Nintendo could replace the WiiU when it replaces the 3DS and make a Portable/Home hybrid console like rumors speculate.

I'll tell you, if Nintendo announces a new Advance Wars game, that's going to make...probably 3rd on my list. Advance Wars normally charts above Mass Effect and XenoBlade during that Top 50 games thread at the end of the year, but I'm loosing faith in the franchise. Advance Wars for GBA were so damn awesome, I just can't see a new Advance Wars game doing anything else then riding the former glory. It's not the new games fault though, it's just the first 2 were so good, I see little space for improvement.

Fallout 4 could also chart on my list after E3, it really depends on if it's shown at E3, who's developing it, and how it looks. F3 was amazing, but New Vegas was a huge let down.

Also Microsofts big Japanese developed exclusives could chart as well my #1 if it turns out to be Lost Odyssey 2. Personally Lost Odyssey was my favorite RPG last gen, I liked it more then XenoBlade and Mass Effect 2.

The Last Guardian might also make my list if we get any info!

----

So far, looking at other peoples lists, I'm pretty meh. Not crazy about another Halo remake, and after Halo 4 I don't expect much from Halo 4. Same goes with Gears and any future Forza, the franchises have peaked and now just have either no plot to explore, or made some bad design choices. Other stuff like Destiny, The Order, Quantum Break, FFXV........I don't really care. I have some really amazing games on my backlog, I don't think any of these will warrant a day 1 purchase. As for some JRPG's like Tales and Disgaea, well I have to beat others in my backlog first...

Just my 2 cents, sorry for the long post. Hopefully Mass Effect Next gets some more point once people see my vote for May.

No trust me, I understood the context, that's precisely why it feel so strange. What you said is actually true. I mean I've always liked the Wii U, but it's true, for the first time since launch there's really more excitement surrounding it than the 3DS, and the 3DS has a reasonable amount of excitement, just nothing to compete with Kart and Smash, or X for that matter. There's even hyped up rumors charting for Wii U like Zelda and Yarn Yoshi. Yes they're confirmed but they're mostly speculation at this point. You don't see that happening with 3DS.

X - 2015 (Summer?)

Citation needed

You left out Hyrule Warriors, Yarn Yoshi, SMTxFE.

At Nintendo Direct a few weeks bacl every game was given a release date (even just tentive) except X. Considering even Bayonetta 2 got a 2014 release date, and that X didn't even get a tentative release date in Japan, I don't think we'll be seeing this game any time soon.

As for the other 3, they aren't big games

So what you're saying is you pulled "next summer" out of your ass. Those other games are no less "big" than X or Bayonetta.

It's really refreshing to see the Xbox doing so well as that gives us a more accurate vision of what we, gamers, want. Now if this happened every month...

And thanks as usual for the great work you do, Salnax. You are spoiling us.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Well it's a safe assumption that X won't release until 2015. Might be fall 2015 or even later if the game releases at earliest spring 2015 in Japan.

Hyrule Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors mod- game........If you consider Dynasty Warriors as big as Smash Bros, then you should stop gaming now. Both SMT & FE have always only been niche franchises, and Yarn Yoshi.....well since when has a Yoshi game ever sold over 3 million or scored a metascore of 8.5/10 +? Yoshi's Island is the only one I think.

on the other hand

X is a sequel to a 92/100 Metascore game
Mario Kart is Nintendo's best selling franchise
Smash Bros is also one of Nintendo's biggest franchises.

So I stand by my arguement that WiiU needs more games. Only really Smash and Mario Kart have a large audience and any hope of saving WiiU sales. Considering that WiiU isn't getting the 3rd party support PS4/XB1 are getting, Nintendo needs to step it up.
