Forums - Gaming Discussion - First game you played on each console and impressions

Sega Master System - Pac Man.

This was the first video game I ever played, before I played it my cousin told me the concept of video games and I thought of it as mind-blowing, needless to say, when I played it I was underwhelmed btu I slowly got addicted to it anyways.

Sega Gensis - Sonic 3. God fucking damn this game was hard as shit. Like come on, I was a little fucking kid and this game had no difficulty scaling, the graphics and music were cool tho and Sonic was likeable as fuck.

NES = Super Mario Bros. Hard as fuck for a kid, and confusing at times to me for some reason, graphics weren't that good.

SNES - Street Fighter. Damn this game was fun as fuck and the graphics were :whew:

Nintendo 64. Killer Instinct. The graphics were insane and I remember as a kid I used to get scared at one of stages cause they had bats or some shit on screen.

Playstation 1. FF9, man this game seemed absolutely fucking massive and the graphics were insane and the gameplay was different from anything I had played before it, it just seemed so epic.

Dreamcast. Shenmue. Wow this game was fucking brilliant and the graphics were mind-blowing and all the online components seemed like it came from the future.

PS2. Final Fantasy X. Graphics were the best I've ever seen at the time and the gameplay was amazing, the most fun I've had ever playing a Final Fantasy game.

Gamecube. Super Smash Bros Melee. The best multiplayer game of all time, hands down.

Xbox. Dead or Alive. Graphics blew the PS2 out the water, too bad the controller was uncomfortable and big as hell.

Xbox 360. Assassin's Creed. WOW, this game was epic to me, the graphics, the gameplay elements, the story, everything was amazing and the 360 controller was so much better than the Xbox's.

Nintendo Wii. Wii Sports. Eh, it was fun the first couple times but after that was repetitive and boring even when playing with friends. Graphics were dissapointing.

PS3. Infamous. Wow this game was simply amazing, played it on my cousins ps3 after the ps3 hack and this game drove me to get a PS3. Never looked back since.

Wii U. Never played anything on it.

Xbox One. NBA 2K14, them graphics and the controller was nicer, but we encountered some error when kinect was trying to recognize two players, was frustrating AF.

PS4. Knack. Terrible game.

Handhelds

Gameboy. Some Zelda game. Was boring AF.

Gameboy color. Pokemon Yellow Version. Best game of all time to me when I was a kid.

Gameboy Advance. Pokemon Ruby. Dissapointing compared to its predeccessors but the graphics were crisp.

Nintendo DS. Some metroid game. Graphics were great but the gameplay was ehh.

PSP. Dragonball Shin Budokai. The graphics were insane and this handheld felt like a premium product compared to the DS.

PS Vita. Don't remember.

Nintendo 3DS. Monster Hunter 3. Didn't feel comfortable at all, screen was way too small and the graphics and UI were eh.

Wii - Wii Sports. Got boring after a while
DS - Sonic Rush Adventure. I loved it. My 2nd best handheld Sonic.
3DS - Ocarina of Time 3D. It was so awesome. The 3D the first time was so great, and the improved graphics was a great bonus.

Edit: Forgot about PSP, 360, and the ones I never owned , but played.

NES - Super Mario Bros. Hard but fun

SNES - Super Mario World. I didn't like Mario's speed in the game, and he was kind of slippery, but it was fun.

PS1 - Spyro The Dragon. Controls were sort of weird, but it was fun.

Master System - Alex Kidd in Miracle World

Didnt blow me away or anything, as brother had a Mega Drive at the time I got the MS, but I came to love the game and completed it loads of times.

Gameboy - Tetris

Simple but highly addictive

SNES - Street Fighter

Was amazing, and what first got me hooked on fighting games which I still love today... even though im actually very poor at SF.

3DO - Wing Commander III

Absolutely loved it and was amazed to see real actor (Luke Skywalker!) in a game.

MegaCD - Road Avenger

Technically I didnt play this one it was my brothers, but I would watch him play RA as avidly as an Anime fan would sit there and watch a Manga film. Though I guess it might be fair to say it was a game better to watch be played than to play yourself.

Dreamcast - Power Stone

I was dissappointed with it, bought thinking it was a fighting game (which I guess it was) but so far removed from what I expected from a fighting game. Only played it a couple of times... thankfully Soul Calibur came along to keep lure me back in

PSOne - Tekken

My desire for fighting games prevailed again and Tekken I loved and to this day I still do and buy any game (or movie) with Tekken in the name. Plus its the one fighting game over the years I would come to actually be very good at.

N64 - Goldeneye

What can I say, my first real taste of competitive FPS gameplay, it was amazing and played alot back then.

PS2 - Tekken Tag

I was in heaven, after having played Tekken 1, 2, 3 for so many hours finally a new one with ALL the characters. This game became one of my most played games ever, probably only behind Warcraft. Though I was dissappointed by how slow it felt at first compared to Tekken 3 (which I played the Japanese import version) but I got used to it and it seemed like such a huge graphical improvement over the PSone versions I had played.

XBox - Halo

Lets just say we loved it that much me and brother bought a second XBox, copy of the game, and a 10 metre custom cut cross over ethernet cable that ran from one side of the house to the other :P

PSP - Ridge Racer

The visuals I found amazing and on a handheld, almost as good as my PS2! but I hardly played that game or any on it. Aside from the first impression the visuals left, it didnt hook me in.

Gamecube - Mario Sunshine

It was ok, but didnt do anything for me and I wasnt a huge Mario fan

XBox 360 - Mass Effect

I brought the console for this game, and was very dissappointed. I loved the look but hate the gameplay, it took me a few attempts over the span of 7 years for me to ever actually play and complete this game (which I did on the PS3 in the end)

PS3 - Resistance 2

I was quite late to the party and picked this game up with it, was ok but nothing that left a lasting impression (though remember the part when going through woods and this large dinosaur stealthed beasts would charge at you and you could just hear their roar and sound of their feet pounding at you, that freaked me out the first time)

Wii U - ZombiU

It was an alright game, but one of those few I would describe as not enjoyable to play, I dont know why.

XBox One - Dead Rising 3

I was blown away by how many Zombies fill the screen at once, I was like 'OH SHIT!'

PS4 - Battlefield 4

LOVED it, just a shame that at first it was near unplayable due to crashes and bugs. But gotten a lot more reliable since then and now upto 260 hours playtime.

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2

Wii: Super Mario Galaxy
PS3: Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction
GBA: Final Fantasy IV Advance
PSP: Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core
Vita: Gravity Rush
Wii u: Zelda wind waker HD
PS4: Killzone Shadow Fall

A bit lazy to say anything for every game, except they were all amazing and some of my favourites in their respective system.

Damn I don't remember a lot of them

Dreamcast - Sonic Adventure

I was blown away by the graphics xD Fun game at the time

Xbox - Halo

was impressed... I'll just say that

Xbox 360 - Dead or Alive 4

Boobs

How do you remember that?? Well, I can try:

Atari 2600: H.E.R.O. Still an awesome game!

Vectrex: Minetorm. Kind of fun actually, but crashed constantly.

NES: Super Mario Bros. Got bored playing it.

Sega Mega Drive: Super Monaco GP. Good game but I was more amazed with the graphics than gameplay.

Mega-CD: Silpheed. Still one of the best shooters I ever played.

32X: Virtua Racing. Played it constantly for a month.

Sega Master System. Fantasy Zone. When of the best shooters at the time.

Sega Saturn: Virtua Fighter 2. One of the best fighters ever so...

Sega Dreamcast: Soul Calibur. Need I say more?

MS Xbox: I think it was Jade´s empire, damn that game was good!

MS Xbox 360: Kameo: elements of power. I still return to this game from time to time.

MS X1: Well, Ryse ofcourse :). Really liking the game!
